Date: Sun, 11 Aug 2002 19:18:00 +0200 Hello fellow tapers! I've just bought the OKM II-R version, and only recorded one show with = it so far and I use my old battery-module from Sound Professionals. It has 7 = different bass cut filters, and I THINK it will work fine. It feeds from a 9V battery = (100hours). The only problem is that the L-R difference might be slight more on R, = but I've yet to find that out. I have 4 shows from aug 15th to sept 7th, so I'll know = more then. My battery module can be found here: www.soundprofessionals.com Look at Microphone Accessories and Battery modules/stereo modules at: SP-SPSB6. Very small and handy I must say... I will write more as I get = more shows recorded.... Jonas Gothenburg, Sweden ------------------------------ From: "Ryan 8^|" Subject: Allentown, PA area(do you live near there??) Date: Sun, 11 Aug 2002 13:37:57 -0400 On local cable access TV in the Allentown area they're airing some of the bands who have been playing at this year's Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA. If you live near there and get these local access stations that are airing Musikfest, please PLEASE send me an e-mail. I don't live near there, so I need someone to make me a VHS copy of a band that played at this year's Musikfest. The band is called INDIGENOUS and I know for sure their set was aired already and will be RE-aired this Thursday night at 10pm on Service Electric Cable in the Allentown area. But I also know for a fact that Blue Ridge Cable in the Dingmans Ferry, PA area has aired their set too and who knows, maybe they too will re-air it. Anyway, thank you for your time and HELP HELP HELP! I will say that for every show I have in my collection by a band/artist who doesn't allow taping I also own one or more of there official releases. I would bet that this is case with most of us here. >>>I never got any Dead shows except commercial releases from 1967 to 1999>>> I'm really sorry to hear that. you don't know what you were missing. :) Gordon RIP Mikey ------------------------------ From: "Mark Ragsdale" Subject: Have Laptop and Audio Access. for trade- Portable Dat Date: Sun, 11 Aug 2002 16:45:04 -0500 I have a 600mhz 312 RAM Compaq Presario with a usb Onkyo Digital Audio Processor-(SPDIF ins and outs) and usb Hewlet Packard CD writer that I would like to trade for a nice portable DAT. Looking for DAT trades for other high quality sources from the Who's tour. I'm especially interested in trading w/ tapers using Neumanns, Schoeps, or DPA's (402X's). Mikey Houser Reply-To: "Shawn Chesley" Date: Mon, 12 Aug 2002 02:02:13 -0600 ATHENS, Georgia (AP) -- Michael "Mikey" Houser, guitarist and singer for the rock band Widespread Panic, died Saturday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 40. Houser released a statement last month explaining his illness and saying he would not participate in its summer tour. His death was reported in The Athens Banner-Herald and on the band's Web site Sunday. Houser began playing in 1982 with the band's vocalist, John Bell, while both were attending the University of Georgia. The band formed three years later with bass player Dave Schools, percussionist Domingo Ortiz and keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann. Widespread Panic, which developed a large, faithful following, is known for its blues-based music with long, improvisational passages and progressive percussions that attracted fans of "jam" bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish. In a prepared statement released Sunday by Paula Donner, Houser's spokeswoman, the family is encouraging people to make contributions to the Michael Houser Music Fund, a program at Athens Academy. ------------------------------ From: "American-Digital" Subject: RE:Retailer for Canare or Mogami cables? Date: Mon, 12 Aug 2002 16:14:11 +0200 The bass roll off filter cuts too much bass and the bass distorts if it's too loud (not sure if it's because of the A3 or the mics themselves though). I think it´s because of the mics. The A3 works with a 6 volt battery and should not distort the signal. I had the same problem and work since then with the -20 dB pad.
