I can record the input at anything from 16/44.1 to 24/96. I tried doing one recording with the computer, and screwed up because I thought the minutes column on the CEP 2.0 timer was hours. Anyway, if someone knws of something being broadcast music wise on FM in LA, let me know, and I'll give it another shot. I have had it for about 3 or 4 years with no problems whatsoever, but now its starting to eat tapes. I have used the cleaning tape but still sometimes it will say error and start to kind of eat my tape. It happens to different kinds and brands of tapes. Now I completely stopped using it because I am nervous it will continue to do it. Any ideas? Where to send it? Pass it along to me at CBrady9158@aol.com Thanks Chris ------------------------------ From: Paulo Vieira Subject: FT: recent Radiohead + Four Tet Date: Thu, 29 Aug 2002 19:27:25 +0100 Hello! I have 3 Radiohead masters from their recent Iberian tour for trade: 02.07.22 Lisbon, PT 02.07.24 Lisbon, PT 02.07.26 Porto, PT and there's some more on the way as well. Four Tet (side project of a member from Fridge) was the opening act. All taped with AT933 and very nice sounding, email me for mp3 samples. I'm up for some trades, preferably via online shortens. Looking for Biosphere, Labradford and GYBE! among other stuff. Thanks. -Paulo ------------------------------ From: Jason Melvin Subject: FS: core-sound cable for sony 7pin Date: Thu, 29 Aug 2002 18:25:57 -0400 i have a passive core-sound cable for a sony 7pin connector (d3, d7, d8, d100, m1). it is an output cable, to make digital dubs to another deck. coax spdif output from a lightweight 7-pin connector. it is in perfect condition, used in home only. for best offer. i was thinking $10. -jason ------------------------------ From: ISTEIN2@aol.com Subject: Re: PNC Bank Arts Center / Jones Beach Security Question Date: Thu, 29 Aug 2002 18:33:12 EDT >>I'll be going to PNC Arts Center and Jones Beach this weekend, and would b= e=20 interested in hearing from anyone that stealth taped at those venues this=20 year.=A0 How's the security?=A0 Are they using metal detector wands, or doin= g=20 "pat downs" before they let you in? Any info on secrity for these venues would be very much appreciated.>> I've recorded at both these venues over the years, and have given up trying=20 to stealth both of these places. The security now goes through everything=20 you bring in, and pats you down right to the ankles. I haven't had any meta= l=20 detectors waved over me, but that doesn't mean they won't whip them out for=20 you. Okay, maybe you can slip something in, but both places are patrolled b= y=20 State Troopers, and I just don't need any hassles. The shows I go there to=20 tape are now just the bands that allow taping. The security at the gates=20 goes thru all your equipment, and then you get a personal pat down. Then=20 everything's cool inside. Just don't try to tape your mic stand to the=20 chairs at Jones Beach. That will bring the security down on you faster then= =20 the seagull shit falling from the sky up above you! Bring bunji cords with=20 you instead of tape and you won't have a problem. I do know of people who got stuff in thru the back gate, so to speak. If yo= u=20 have an all access pass, you don't go through the extensive security check i= f=20 you go in the back gate at Jones Beach. From backstage you can then enter=20 the seating area without problems. At Jones Beach you can get an easier=20 security search if you happen to go in by way of the V.I.P. gate on the side= =20 by the ticket office. You do get a light pat down, but not all the way down= .=20 Of course you have to have V.I.P. tickets for that gate. Just don't keep=20 anything in your pockets, like a microphone or something. They do pat you=20 down and ask what's in your pockets if they feel anything. My main reason for responding to this particular post was to ask the poster,= =20 "Why do you want to stealth this particular weekend?" I assume you are goin= g=20 to the Who shows. Maybe you want Robert Plant, but otherwise, the Who are=20 releasing these shows to their fans for something like $15 a show, I think.=20= =20 It's their way of preventing anyone from making money off of any stealth=20 recordings. I can't imagine anyone making money off of a stealth recording=20 in this day and age, but I do applaud the Who for being sensitive to the nee= d=20 of their fans for recordings of their shows. It's a major move by a force i= n=20 the music industry to change the way things have been done. If I can get a=20 soundboard copy of a show I've been to, and know it before the show, I don't= =20 think I'd ever try to stealth the show. Although I do get a great audience=20 recording every now and then, I also wind up with screaming and clapping and= =20 whistling on most of them. I wish all bands starting releasing their shows=20 the way the Who are doing. If you happen to stealth these two upcoming shows, I hope it works out for=20 you. Date: Thu, 29 Aug 2002 22:11:54 -0400 Hey, I recently purchased a pair of sr-71s. I've been a dat patcher for the last few years but have never run my own rig. I am planning on purchasing a denecke ad-20 for pre-amp/ad but am looking for a suitable power solution for the mics. I've heard they are very power hungry mics, and my original intentions were to purchase a ps-2 to power them. I talked to someone, though, who had problems getting the sr-71s sufficient power with the ps-2. I don't want to buy the ps-2 if it's not going to be enough power. Does anyone have any experience running sr71s > ps-2 > ad20 or something similar? If most people have success with this setup, I'll probably go with it. If not, any advice on an alternative power solution would be appreciated. Thanks.
