In a recent trade, I recieved a wonderful soundboard on cd of Glen Campbell live @ State Theater in New Brunswick from 11/27/98. The problem is that it was mastered incorrectly, as there are small bumps at each index mark.
It is my hope that someone out there has a clean cdr copy or dat copy of this show. I've got much to trade. My list contains over 2,600 entries.

I remember seeing a unit a while back that was a portable DAT-walkman
that was pretty cheap~$300 that only had playback and no input/recording
abilities. Does anyone know who makes this, and if it's still in
production?

I have never recorded any electrically amplified performances and have
never needed to use line level inputs from the battery box. It hurts
to think of the permanent damage people may be doing to their organic
sensors if they need to use that much protection for the electronic
ones...

Does anyone here know the taping policy for RUSH during the '02 tour? I'm

I bought a D100 from The DAT Store in 1998 and it is covered by an
extended service agreement until 2003. The administrator is listed as
Independent Dealer Services Inc., but their 800 number is disconnected.
The insurer for the agreement is Virginia Surety Company which seems still
to be a going concern, so hopefully I can still get the agreement honored.
Has anyone been through this, and have a working phone number or other
point of contact for me to get service?

Reaching really far here and posting to dat-heads. Yes this Mayer cat does
allow recording and is poorly covered on the West coast (probably due to the
fact that the median age at his shows is around 14).
If you recorded either of these shows and are interested in sharing them I
have master FOB Schoeps in hat of the 3 other California shows to share with
you.

For years I have been using the coresound HEB 4060's > M-1 & I have never
experienced brickwalling. (maybe I am just lucky) I have recorded everything
from heavy metal to jazz to folk.... I have had to use different methods
depending on the show. I did find that an in-line 11db attenuator (in addition
to the 20db cut on the M-1) was helpful in a situation where I am using the
mic input & want to keep the audience response down in between songs. I have
found that the 11db with the 20db cut puts me at an equivalent of the line
input but allows me to use the mic input with the M-1's excellent soft
limiter. At all other times I use the line input. I beleive that the line
input is a cleaner sound, however it is not always the best for every show. So
maybe the solution to the problem is the equipment?
I don't know if this of any help, but it is my experience!
BWT: any show off my list done with the 4060's to the 1st person who is having
problems with brickwalling.

I bought all this stuff to tape this summer, but I don't have the time and I need the money back right now....The mics, mic stand, and the Stewart BPS-1 power supplies are used, but everthing else is new and will come in it's original box. I was going to run SR77's>Mbox>Powerbook, btw......Here's what I got:

I am finally ready to invest in a new soundcard. I was looking into
getting the Ego Systems Waveterminal 2496 since I have heard so many
good things about it. However, I need a card that will import/export
Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, and the 2496 does not. I'm looking in a
mid-range priced card, that doesn't re-sample automatically and has the
ability to handle the Dolby Digital stream.
Basically, I need to transfer my DAT tapes to my HD, as well as import
and edit video with Dolby Digital sound. Are there higher end cards by
Ego Systems that I should look into? I am really clueless when it comes
to digital soundcards, so any suggestions given will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking to sell my DA-P1 with 2 6v batteries and a
charger. The deck has less than 150 hours of record
time on the heads and less than 300 hours of play time.
I can't really put a number on the hours, but those
are probably a bit higher than what's actually on the
heads. The deck works just like the day it was born.
I'll throw in a DAT cleaning tape and any extra blank
DAT's I can find around here (no more than 10).
Please e-mail me if yer interested. I'll shoot you my
phone number, since I like to deal with these sorts of
things on the phone... just so much easier.
