Hello Garbage tapers....
Looking for copies of the 2 recent Garbage shows at the Camden Ballroom in
(or near?) London this past week. Turns out they played some pretty rare
stuff, songs not played live since the first album, some rare b-sides, and
other tunes had not been played live in a long time.
Anyway, I've got lots of great Garbage masters and clones for trade, DAT
preferred but CD ok as well.
Thanks... Bill

Grovel time!
Searching for New World Disorder recordings, specifically Gin
Blossoms but wouldn't mind the other bands either! I don't have a
list yet but I mastered many shows this season (many uncirc'd so
far) including several shows by Glen Phillips (Former lead from
Toad the Wet Sprocket), Nickel Creek, Big Head Todd and the
Monsters, Carbon Leaf, Incubus, Goo Goo Dolls, Five For Fighting,
John Mayer, Jerry Cantrell, G. Love and Special Sauce, a
perfect .rm capture of the 1st Other Ones webcast, and more. I've
taped this season with DPA 4060s / AT831s / an ALD reciever / and
a Royer SF-12 stereo ribbon mic and all the above recordings sound
very nice. I can trade CD-R, DAT, cassette, SHN, by mail or
electronic means (AIM, FTP, etc). HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE!!!
Peace, Chris

Hi all. Here's info for those taping upcoming shows:
They play 2 sets, 2 60m tapes will work fine. You have a 20 minute intermission, but a movie starts at 15 minutes.
Start rolling when you see the movie. Crickets will chirp at 10 minutes, but wait for the movie.
And you will need to stealth, even though the band has indicated a sorta pro stance, nothing offcial.
Good luck, and pass these on to the DRE (The digital Rush Experience) if you can.

regarding rush taping..........rush has no offical policy so you gotta
stealth the whole way. venues that bounce for that shit will toss you.
rush is playing two sets:
--> 1st is 70min --> 20min intermission
--> 2nd to encore is almost 80min, depending how much crickets taped
--> encore is 15min
if its an 8pm show, they start on time. 7:30 gigs can start anywhere from
that time to 7:45 usually. the intro to the second set starts with cricket
noises, with the sun rising. the intro is cool and its good to tape most of
it if you have the time. once the sun starts to get bright i'd start rolling
(at a minimum). most with dats can roll right as the crickets start if you
got a new tape in.
they are on break now and most likely will not change the format for the
west coast shows. however, when they come back east in OCT., it is possible
that a change may be made. indoor venues will dominate those shows and a mix
up may occur, but my gut tells me the length and format will be the same.
i'd guess that some songs may get rotated in. i hope.
ninjadave.

related obscurities that I've never seen on anyone's lists before. One is a=20
small club solo concert by ex-Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten. I transfered=20
Alan Bershaw's cassette masters of this to CD. The other is a one hour 1/4=20
track reel he had of Mickey Hart and DIGA rehearsing on May 4, 1975 and is=20
excellent studio quality. The details follow.=20
If anyone would like to trade for one or both of these recordings, I'm=20
particularly interested in finding any live recordings by Diga (I know they=20
did a few shows in 75), any Kieth & Donna Band sets with Jerry from 1975 and=

4th Annual
911 Power to the Peaceful Festival
Free Concert and Social Justice Rally
MICHAEL FRANTI AND SPEARHEAD
Sat. September 7, 2002 11-6pm
Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Michael Franti, Spearhead and the Guerrilla Management Collective
bring you the 4th annual 911 festival where music, art and activism
come together to make the revolution irresistible.
Unifying the Peace Community is the mission of the 4th Annual 911
Festival. Franti states ³911 began in 1999 as an international day
of art and culture in support of political prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal.
The eleventh day of the ninth month (911) was chosen to call
attention to the emergency status of Mumia¹s impending execution.
In 2000 the event was expanded to show support for all prisoners on
death row, and to speak out against the exponential growth of the
prison industrial complex. In 2001 the day of September eleventh
took on a wider significance as a result of the tragic loss of life
which took place on the attacks of the day. At our 4th annual 911
Power to the Peaceful Festival, we will create a compassionate
space of healing for ALL those people killed or displaced by
terrorism and by the war on terrorism."
The main stage will be hosted by Davey D and Weyland of KPFA's
"Hard Knock Radio" and will showcase keynote speakers, spoken word,
and live musical acts with Michael Franti and Spearhead headlining.
Amy Goodman, (award-winning journalist of National Radio and TV
program Democracy Now!), Mario Africa (MOVE and AWOL organization),
Krist Novoselic (formally of Nirvana), Jello Biafra (social
commentator and spoken word artist), and Medea Benjamin (Global
Exchange) are the confirmed speakers. KRS-One (hip-hop pioneer),
Mystic (hip-hop artist), Los Mocosos (SF Latin-based rock, funk,
salsa band), Medicine Drum (electronic/tribal band), New Soul
Singers (gospel band), JahYzer (Jah Warrior Shelter), Garth
(Wicked), Ms. E (FutureBreaks FM), DJ Soulsalaam, Sake 1 (Local
1200) and DJ Adnan (Uniting Souls) are confirmed musical acts.
An open-air art gallery featuring political visual artists , a
healing arts tent, Art & Revolution guerrilla theater, Mystic
Family Circus Troupe, a DJ tent and "green" commercial vendors and
food booths will all be on site. More than 100 social
organizations will table at the event and host workshops the
following day.
On Sunday September 8th, the 911 Festival will sponsor its first
open space social forum which will create an open dialogue between
social justice, environmental and political org facilitators and
people that want to participate in ways of making the peace
movement more effective. This forum will be held at The New College
of California, 777 Valencia St, San Francisco, 10am 7pm followed
by an acoustic set by Michael Franti & Spearhead 8pm-9:30pm.
911 Power to the Peaceful Festival will be promoted as a Western
Region Mobilization and Concert. Our past events have drawn an
audience of 10,000 people from around the world. It is a FREE
event and this year we have expanded to a new beautiful location in
Golden Gate Park. It will be a coming together of all people
interested in commemorating the attacks of September 11th, by
expressing their faith in the power of peace and justice. 911
Power to the Peaceful Festival will be an enlightening, enraging
and inspiring event not to miss!
