Did anything tell you taping was not permitted, like your ticket? Did something tell you taping was permitted? If you got your rig taken away, and used by the staff, I guess that may be the price of assuming you have a right to tape where it may be clearly warned taping is not tolerated. Interesting how that was never mentioned. If you can afford a portable rig, you can afford aa tape and some batteries to go to someone else. I don't know if you were advised in advance of taping being permited or not, but I suspect you were. Keith ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: Re: TDK CDR Date: Sat, 07 Sep 2002 12:27:55 -0700 If they are made by Ritek, as they probably are, they are generally accepted to knowing CD-R users as Ritek's, r about as good as Maxell or Memorex. I won't trade for them, I won't buy them, and if sent any in a B+P I won't guarantee them. I do burn on Plextor SCSI burners, and do have few problems, but when media costs as much as Fuji Film made in Japan by Tayio Yuden, why buy made in Taiwan, Ritek media? BTW, Best Buy is having yet another sale on Fuji Film spindles of 50 wrapped into 2 spindles for $24.99 through Saturday, with a $17 rebate on top of that, if you haven't used your rebate this year. Otherwise, 25 cents a piece is a damn good price. You can order online. Keith ------------------------------ From: mrdata1968@yahoo.com Subject: Black Sabbath Date: Sat, 07 Sep 2002 21:51:18 +0200 Is there anyone in CD/DAT-land who's having: Black Sabbath live December 1999, Rotterdam, The Netherlands? ------------------------------ From: "Mr. Data" Subject: G3 Date: Sat, 07 Sep 2002 22:40:29 +0200 Does anyone recorded "G3" live in '97/'98 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands? ------------------------------ From: Brendan Hoar Subject: Re: NiMH 9volts in Sonosax? However, don't give up hope... In my past research for battery pack building tips, I did read that someone out there manufactures an 8 internal cell NiMH in the "9v alkaline" form factor. Note that it's at-load nominal voltage will actually be 9.6v, and it's fully-charged and floating voltage considerably higher, perhaps even too high for two of them to be safe in your unit (depends on the unit). A quick web search leads to the example I remember: http://www.nimhbattery.com/9v-nimh-batteries-chargers.htm 170ma though - I'm pretty sure that alkalines are usually at least twice that at whatever the current drain they usually measure such things at. That'll probably leave you unhappy with the run-time. But you may find others. -brendan ------------------------------ From: "Steve Mew" Subject: ISO: Primo from Italy or Bas from Holland. Does anybody have one they would like to sell for less than the cost of a new one? I am only interested in the Oades cable. Thanks and thanks for the replies on the lost cable. I'm really disappointed with Phoenix tapers, even more so than usual, but I guess people steal everywhere, not just here. I will label my cable better next time, although one would think name and address would be enough. It says to use the Analog position when connecting to the Mic or Line in, which doesn't make sense to me since I don't know of any deck with a Sony 7-pin connector for Mic or Line in. Any explanation? I've monkeyed with the buffers: increasing both number of them and their size, but still get gaps/dropped parts. Is anyone using CEP to record from DAT (if not, what's better?), and perhaps you could suggest a good setup for recording? (I've got 768 MB RAM and a 1.2GHz Pentium III.)
