Hey all-
I was wondering if there might be anyone out there able
to get myself + friend into the pre-show party at the HoB? (I already have
tickets to the show - so that part is not a problem - however, when I
attended back in '99 I remember it made things alot easier as far as taping
was concerned)
Let me know - getting back into the swing of things,

Like Keith I also buy only Tayio Yuden discs because they
seem to work best in my persnickity burner. However my
problem is identifying them prior to purchase. Does anyone
know how to do that? The name on the label means nothing
to me. As long as they are manufactured by TY, I'll buy
them.

Can't make this Gomez show as planned, have one ticket
(GA) for sale. It's at the Theatre of Living Arts at
8:00PM. I'll eat the (considerable) service charges and
sell it for face which is $18.50.
As for taping, they don't have an official policy but
last tour they were cool with it; at some shows folks got
board patches, sometimes folks were allowed to set up
stands, and some venues turned tapers away at the door,
so YMMV. Best bet is to show up early with a humble
attitude.

Hi all. I know that this is not properly on-topic, so litigate me. I'm at
a loss for an answer to a question that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
We'd like to see, and likely record, the titled show. Ticketmaster can't
find any available tickets. What I'd really like to know is whether tickets
are not yet on sale, or already sold out.
Anyone in the Big City know? Thanks for any help.

Yes taping is allowed. At the Marin CA show you could set up just about
anywhere. Be advised: at the Marin show the volume was ridiculously low!!!
You'll really want to get as close to the stacks as possible (within reason).
I setup right at the SBD, and I could hear the soundguys chatting (without
having to raise their voices) throughout the show over the music. On top of
that, twice per set someone walked up and told the soundguys to turn it up...
but they wouldn't. I think they had the attitude that if people ain't gonna
be quiet, then they ain't gonna hear the music. Oh well, next time I'll bring
my Miracle-Ear.
Good luck,
Eric

Hey yall,
I will be conducting an interview with one of the
lawyers who represents Metallica in the next couple of
days. I'm writing a paper on the legal rights of those
who record performances in the state of California. I
can change the state, but that's what I'm shooting for
right now... maybe I'll change it to New York, since I
hear they have some strict laws on taping.
Are there any questions or topics that you suggest I
bring up with this person? Any circumstances you have
been in or seen in the stealth world that you warrant
as being in violation of the rights of the taper?
I'm open to ANYTHING yall have to say. Just be sure to
respond to me via: henry@dmbtapers.org
I'm just seeing if yall come up with anything that I
haven't been able to brainstorm.
thanks yall,
H!

I have listed my D8 on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1381838010&rd=1
I also have the Oade cable. (Please dont email me if all you want is the
cable). The cable isnt for sale until the Sony sells. I prefer to sell the
D8 and cable together. But they didnt sell as a pair on eBay, so I listed
the D8 only on eBay. The reserve price is set at $425. Higher than most D8
prices because it includes a warranty and 20 tapes. Almost all other D8's
for sale have NO warranty. If interested... bid for the Sony D8 on eBay...
and I'll sell you the cable off eBay. The cable is like new... and given
that they are getting to be rare... it will sell for $125.
Offer me $550 for the pair... and I'll pull the auction off eBay. You gotta
do this before I get any bids though.

If you have anything, or know someone who might have some of this stuff,

I cant find where I read it... but somewhere there was a warning about WHEN
to turn on Phantom Power. Either after the mics are hooked up.. or before.
My sense is the former... but I cant remember. At any rate.. if someone
could explain which sequence and why it matters. Also.. if you screw up...
how much damage can be done?
