My apologies if this has already been asked. Does
anybody know what the taping policy is for the
Strictly Bluegrass festival on Oct. 5 & 6 in San
Francisco? If taping is allowed,is anyone else
planning on taping? With 3 stages it's going to be
impossible to record all the bands I'd like to hear so
I'd like to coordinate efforts with other tapers if
possible. Thanks.

Greetings All.
I have a partial SOUNDBOARD of this show, but it is missing the 1st
song & the encores. It sounds frigging amazing. I'd love to get a hold
of a great DAT Audience to make it complete. Can anyone help with what
i am missing? I'd be more than happy to send a complete show to
whoever can help me.
The audio was taken from a pro-shot DVD that i have. Whoever comes
thru is more than welcome to this as well.
please reply to slimane@comcast.net
Thanks

I am looking for nice recordings of Springsteen from San Jose, LA, Phoenix,
St. Louis and from the MTV VMAs on 8/29. DAT and CDR are fine with me.
thanks.

I'm not some right-wing person spouting party-line statements! The
realization to me is that, "Taping is a privilege, not a right." Think about
all the security issues involved here for venues in light of 9/11 events.
Everywhere you go, you get inspected now. Sports arenas are one of the
tightest security areas going. These places have insurance, and their
premiums are based on how tight their security policies are.
Now here come us taper dudes! We pretty much storm the doors when they first
open the place. There are thousands of other fans behind us pushing to get
in sometimes. We have to open up all our bags for inspection before going
in. But, nobody else is allowed to bring in a bag or backpack, let alone
tons of high tech recording equipment. We tapers have been pretty lucky that
the bands think enough of us to give instructions to the venues well
beforehand. What we are hearing from the band now is a reasonable solution
to a potential security risk.
The amazing thing I've noticed about tapers is the ease at which everyone
gets along with each other. The important thing here is to immediately put
the venues at ease when they see how professional and polite we are to
everyone. I'm the first to admit that many people around me over the years
have gone out of their ways to insure I get a good recording. These are
ordinary people sitting next to, and around, tapers FOB. They don't have to
inconvenience themselves, but they offer to anyway. I've never really had an
issue with a fan, that everyone around me didn't have the same issue with. I
consider myself very lucky to be able to publicly tape shows.
I could make this a real long post, but I won't. I think it's most important
that all tapers (remember, one rotten apple can spoil the whole bunch!)
handle the upcoming taping situation with The Other Ones in a relaxed
friendly manner. It's really up to us to insure we'll always be able to tape
shows and events.
Yours,
Ira

Hy Bobby,
try to clean the heads of the D7 by using a cleaning DAT-Tape.
I use a Sony cleaning tape, the type is:
DT-10 CL
But there should be more types available, don´t know ...

Greetings,
I like so many other phish heads got shut out of the MSG show, it seems as
if the scalpers got most of the tix????
Anyway I was hoping some kind soul out there who was not able to get Hampton
tix may be willing to trade for a pair of FRI or SAT Hampton tix. Obviously
I would adore taper tix but anything would do. Please e-mail me if you would
like to do this. If not I will see you all in Hampton!
Thanx
DAVE
