Have a real good recording of Moe. @ The Moe Down 9/1/02. There is a segment of the show where Moe. is playing a jammed out song called "Moth" that seamlessly transitions into a full band insertion of Galactic back into Moth. You can barely tell when you give it a hard listen.

Hi Folks:
Wednesday is the 70th anniversary of the birth of the late pianist Glenn
Gould. Are there any Canadian tapers on this list who might tape a CBC
telecast on Wednesday night, preferably in VHS HiFi? I have plenty of
classical videos and concert recordings to trade.
Please contact me at my e-mail address below. Thanks in advance.

hey
would any of the other non-phish fans on this list
like to start a pool wherein we each take guesses at
the number of ticket grovels we'll have to wade
through before new year's eve rolls around?
i figure there are at least a couple dozen of us, so
if we all throw in five bucks and take a guess,
whoever's closest wins the pool and can afford a
couple of CDr spindles, which we can then in turn fill
with non-phish tunes to turn phish fans onto other
music? it's a noble idea; join me!
anyone?

Lemme get this straight: Someone charged someone EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS
to plug into the board for a Hornsby/Kimock show? That is absolutely
insane!! Who charged you? What was the reasoning? And most
importantly, why in the hell did anyone PAY IT?!?!?
Un-f*cking-believable!!
I'm going to go get a few Hornsby live CDRs I recorded ready to sell on
eBay... Bidding, it seems, should start at $800.

Hello All,
I have the following grateful dead dats up for grabs. The following 15 shows are on 29 60 meter dats. I have converted these to cdr and am looking for 150 (mitsui, fuji or taiyo yuden only) 80 min. blank cdr's. (Fuji's currently on sale at Kmart for $11.97 per 50. This works out to $1.24 per dat excluding sales tax.) These shows are on either labeled maxell hs4's or labeled sony dgp's, except 4.14.72 (kao) and jgb 11.24.90 (masterdat). The lineage is as they came to me at the time of the trade. This is a take all propostion. All shows are complete. Thanks for the bw.

Bob Rupe was a no show but a great show nonetheless from Walter,Konrad, and
Drew last night. There were a handful of new songs played plus the ones that
you would have wanted to hear. I'll take some b&ps or trades. Always looking
for more SIlos,Westerberg from the most recent tour or any era,Jerry Joseph
and NRBQ that I do not have.
The Silo's classic Cd Cuba will be re-released on Tuesday with Live versions
of You And Your Sister and Tennessee Fire plus a video for Tennessee Fire. I
've played the whole thing at least twice since I bought it last night.
Anyway...

FYI, I commented based on my close relationship with a band
that tried to formalize their taping policies. I also did
security for an event where they only allowed 5 tapers and
had to deal with those people (hand selected as people who
ordered tapers tickets and "knew the rules") still tried
to bend the rules, especially the ones I knew best. I suspect
I know some of these headaches. :-)
I also very clearly stated that the circumstances for the
Allmans were different than other bands, and that I did
not believe there was a recipe that worked for large scenes.
However, I did state my belief that tapers have good communications
and some ability to self-police. The Allmans have taken advantage
of that and I have always been impressed by their organization
at many levels.
What I would really like to see this thread do constructively
is try and address
- What is good behavior, given the reality that people
will just break the rules if not to their favor
(one deck per taper ticket, only in the section...).
Think about not that which is problematic, but that
which works as guidelines.
- How we communicate better, examples of bands &
individuals getting the word along.
You have taken my comment out of context. What a number
of bands have done, is take certain policies "rules" and
lay them down on paper instead of having a dialogue with
tapers about how to behave. They then let things get out of
control and clamp down on the "problem" (usually a certain
symptom), still w/o dialogue... enforcing the rules and not
educating what "good behavior is." This becomes not only
a headache for the organization, but it can affect other fans
who just want to enjoy the show. I will not debate you because
I do not think its valuable to the list, but you have completely
missed what I said.

SSIA, pretty much. high quality DSBDs of these three
shows circulate, and i'd love to find them in .shn
format or get clean DAT clones off of someone who's
got pristine copies.

hello all...need some advice/direction...
ive been running mg210>sxm2>sbm>d8 for about 6 months with great
results..but occasionally ive encountered what sounds literally like a mic
cable coming unplugged during a gig. is this an overload on the pre? the
levels from sbm>d8 are stong, but i peak them at about 90%, and theres
plenty of headroom and the levels are bouncing rather nicely...no brickwall
at all.
im trying to swap out mic cords in a 'process of elimination' to track this
problem down. has anyone else had this prob? i run the gains on the 'sax'
at 12 o'clock, so 'signal in=signal out', right?
please help if ya can...

Uhh... If someone choses to spend money to make a tape
(buying scalped tickets... giving someone else a ticket),
that is their prerogative. I hope the tape was worth it
to them. If someone else wants to kick in for whatever
reason, cool. But regardless of whether this "came from the
heart" (my words) or whatever, soliciting reimbursement
here is not appropriate.

I have one ticket available for the (sold out?) 10/25/02 McCartney show at
Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, Ca. I only want what I paid for it. I scored a
floor ticket so I need to get rid of the lower section ticket.
Prefer to sell to someone in so cal so we can make the exchange a few weeks

before the show.

Date: Mon, 23 Sep 2002 19:24:34 -0400 (EDT)
i dont recall ever seeing much talk about using tube mic pre-amps for
DAT concert recording. is there some issues with them that they are not
optimal for concert recording? the only thing i can think might be an
issue is having the 'drive' level too high or somehting were you would get
natural tube distortion..
