I have a real hard time believing that someone in the Hornsby/Kimock clan would ever ask for $$ to hook up to the board..much less even take the $$ if offered...This is a "SHAM" to rip you and me via DatHeads....What BS! Give your donations to "I Believe in BS" in care of Fatheads@stupid.net JP... =======//======== In The School for Squares, the Blockheads put Indian children who have tee-pee heads into a press that turns their heads into blockheads. That would actually probably be better than the nasties that some transistor pre-amps produce when overdriven. The big problem, I would guess, is power. I've never heard of a battery-driven tube pre-amp, at least not portable. Even small tubes probably suck a lot of juice.
From: Scott Goodwin <coryphaena_29403@juno.com> Subject: Pool Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 13:08:54 -0400 Yeah, forgot my : ^ ) ... eMail sucks for sarcasm! It has nothing to do with liking the band. It has everything to do with this list not being about tickets, something you tacitly acknowledge in your below comments. Me personally, I'd go start a Yahoo! Group (if someone else already hasn't) for such, or I'd keep it on a Phish list. Which DAT-Heads isn't. I respect the fact that people like Phish (note that I said I hate them, not 'they suck'), but I think folks trying to deal with tickets on this list need to respect that it's not a Phish Tickets List... ...and I am now starting to think my bid of 97 is going to be low... From: Eric Angel <ejangel@ucdavis.edu> Subject: Re: Phish Pool Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 10:23:29 -0700 I just want to say that I think Sean summed up the ticket grovel situation nicely. I'd also like to add 2 things. First, if you don't care for Phish, then please learn to deal with it. Ticket grovels will be posted, get over it, use the scroll button on your mouse. And if you are concerned about wasting BW, then why should everyone flood the list with usless posts like "I hate Phish, I guess 132 grovels!". At least ticket messages might actually help someone. Second, where do you send your "I hate Phish" e-mail messages that you want to be included in the digest? I'll give you a hint, check the bottom of this digest. For the record: Yes, I do like Phish. No, I'm not going to any of their NYE shows, nor will I be grovelling for tickets. Yes, I realize this is also a waste of BW. So, I'll offer up a BWT (something that the "I hate Phish" messages lacked). From: "Potter, Ray" <RPotter@TRCSOLUTIONS.com> Subject: $800 to record a show Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 14:29:46 -0400 $800 bucks to be allowed to record a show - thats crazy!!!!!!!! All this talk has me wondering about the legality of this. Who did this money go to - the venue or to the artist? I'm assuming in = the case of the Hornsby show that it went to the venue as I am confident = Bruce would not allow the shearing of his flock in such a way. If you pay to record a show do you then own the rights to the = performance? And if you own the rights can you then legally sell copies = of the show to whomever you wish? Where does this leave the artist? Paying to record a show - thats just nuts!!!!! Peace Ray
From: gottajiboo40@mac.com Subject: Idiotic Phish pool Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 14:44:33 -0500 Are you kidding me? Some of you are childish enough to post stupid shit like this? How old are you people? 12,13? So the fuck what if people are looking for tickets or trying to trade them. THAT"S LIFE! Be a friggin' adult about it for gods sake. Scott Goodwin, you really should seek out a life. Your immature little post was not only totally childish and uncalled for, but you completely made yourself look like an ass to everyone on this board. People, do some of you really have nothing better to do with your lives than to sit and post this immature, childish crap? You have nothing better to do that to continuously rehash all this "my band is better than your band" crap? When I posted for my ticket trade, I probably should have posted a bandwidth tax which I will do now, but come on. Seriously people, this is very childish and ridiculous. Thank you Sean Kennedy for being a voice of mature reasoning. Yes, this should not turn into everyone begging for tickets, but I have been taping and trading for many years now, and I feel I should have NO reserve if I want to try and trade my tickets with fellow tapers in this forum. My post made it on the digest twice by accident. People make mistakes, so please, let's really try to be adults here because this is absolutely ridiculous. I've used them a total of 8 times and never use them anymore. I still have some CS cardioids so I am keeping the battery box/bass rolloff filter. If you want the battery box/bass rolloff filter you can buy a new one at www.core-sound.com for $59.00(fixed flat or filter response) or $89.00(switchable flat or filter response). I'm asking $120.00 for the mics (including shipping). New they are $230.00. These mics are not the low end set, nor are they the high end. _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

From: "Winnie" <who@sover.net> Subject: mini-me shipping DC voltage? Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 16:18:34 -0400 There is conflicting info making it's way around. Apogee web site says that the mini-me will run on 6 volts DC. Some dealers say that the spec had changed and it wont run on under 8 volts. I just called the dealer who has my pre-order. I am next in line for the backordered units. They had one in stock that was going to the person who was in front of me in line. So they opened the manual and it says 6 volts is OK. Has anyone out there gotten their minime order yet who could confirm the DC voltage spec? I am asking because I want to know if I need to get a different battery setup and sell my current 6 volt setup. thanks! winnie ======================================= "Imagine there's no countries, It isn't hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace..."-John Lennon Winnie Olmer <mailto:who@sover.net> CD Trades: <http://www.sover.net/~who/trades.htm> =======================================

Uhh, you don't like Bicho de P=E9 (perhaps my favorate style, not necessarily band)? I will have to DoS your address. You are probably making assumptions about what music I like that is completely wrong, but I think that is irrelevent. Seriously, for people who do not want to read ticket grovels, you folks generate a lot of email which is pretty pointless. As far as being offended, DAT-heads is run so that tapers can help each other. Its spent far too much of the last few weeks amplifying flame wars. I have run it for > 10 years and I expect some technical discussion here and overall cooperation. > PS - anybody get a copy of Justin Timberlake at the MTV awards??? Great, a useless post + a grovel. A real win, next time offer a bandwidth tax. (I am providing the bandwidth, so that is my tax.) Sean
From: "Dan" <dgreenberg1@hvc.rr.com> Subject: extra Jorma + Derek Trucks Band 8/22/02 on DAT for B&P Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 17:10:09 -0400 This is for their recent sets from the outdoor free show at City Hall Park in NYC (a few blocks from Ground Zero). The show was recorded FOB with DPA mics onto one 90m Sony DAT. In return, I'd like one sealed Sony or Maxell 90m DAT plus postage. First to respond after the Digest hits my mailbox gets it...unless you're willing to do B+P's for others, which I would give preference to (and then you wouldn't have to be 'first'), in which case please tell me how many B+P's for others you're willing to make...the highest # of B+P's offered will then get it. 'The contest' ends 48 hours after I get the Digest, and I will email back all who respond. Peace, -Dan-

From: "DRider" <Hawkwind@attbi.com> Subject: ISO: Rising Low Screening Party Tapes Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 18:10:31 -0400 Did anyone tape this?? Members of Gov't Mule, Phish & Widespread Panic Perform at Rising Low Screening Party Several musicians performed at a premiere party for Mike Gordon's documentary, Rising Low, Saturday at Allaire Studios in Shokan, NY (just outside Woodstock). Following the screening of the film, many informal jam sessions unfolded over the course of the evening. Gordon played banjo with bluegrass duo Jay & Molly along with members of New York-based Big Appleachio. The set featured many standards, including "Uncle Penn" and "Deep Elem Blues." Next up was drummer Matt Abts (Gov't Mule), bassist Dave Schools (Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule) and guitarist Fuzz (Deep Banana Blackout). The trio was soon joined by DJ Logic, keyboardist Rob Marscher (Addison Groove Project) and saxophonist John Bethel for "Cissy Strut" and "Soul Power." Later in the evening, guitarist Trey Anastasio (Phish), Gordon, Abts, Fuzz, Logic and Marscher played a 40-minute set of high-energy improvisation that included a brief tease of The Who's "Sparks." In the wee hours of the night, DJ Logic entertained the crowd for an hour or so before Schools and Abts emerged for more improv. Again..... Did anyone tape this?? D
