Okay, I've been staring at this tape drive in a box I
retired from an office a few months back, and it
finally occurs to me that this drive may be audio
capable. It's a SCSI unit, model SDT-7200.
How could I test it?
Thanks!

I am looking for a HQ copy (or heck, any copy) of the 21st Century
Schizoid Band set from the Canterbury Fayre in England back in
August. The band included former early members of King Crimson
(Ian McDonald, Mike and Peter Giles, Mel Collins, and former Level
42's frontman Jakko).
Have plenty of KC, prog-related, and other goodies to trade! I am
DYING to hear this! To help tantalize your taste buds for this
show, check out this set list :)
Pictures of a City, Catfood, Let there be Light, In the Court of
the Crimson King, Progress *, Formentera Lady, If I Was **, Ladies
of the Road, I Talk to the Wind, Epitaph, 21st Century Schizoid
Man.
* new Mike Giles song
** Ian McDonald song from Drivers Eyes
Thanks.

the best option is to get a non-Maudio card, with real drivers. I for one
am sick of m-audio blaming windows for their driver shortfalls. There is a
whole host of cards out there that work fine in win2k w/24 bit

It is NOT audio capable, nor upgradable (AFAIK). This is a Sony DDS-2
unit and although Sony does make an audio capable drive (SDT-9000 as OEM
for SGI) the SDT-7200 was never available as such.

time to give back... BnP's / trades for Al Dimeola at Jazzid, a small
club/bar on South Beach in Miami. for whatever reasons, Al and friends did
3 shows to rehearse some new tunes (and play the shit out of old ones)
before going into the studio. if it really matters to someone i'll expedite
getting the 2nd night to complete the run.
Taped real upclose, maybe 10 feet from stage, with AKG 451s (cards) > DAP1.
Can do DAT or CD. All takers, so if you're reading this a month from today
feel free to reply.
and thanks again to jamie for getting us closer to a DAT alternative...the
nomad sounds promising.

I actually have benifited from this offer and, though I don't think it
should come as frequently as it has been, new offers such as this seem
worthwhile posting here... then again, that could open up the
floodgates for more solicitations, and we don't want that either...
best,

p.s. if anyone can drop me an e-mail and let me know what wireless
networking products they have had success with, i'd really appreciate
it... (i.e. something like this "i've had great success with the
linksys router model #XXXX and the netgear PCMCIA card model#XXX and i
purchased them for $XX.XX at this website, they work great together"
that would be awsome)

Subject: Tapers Needed for Will Bernard & Otherbug Mini East Coast Tour
Date: Mon, 30 Sep 2002 20:20:09 -0400
Hey Folks,
I'm looking for some people who would be interested in taping some of the
upcoming shows on the Will Bernard & Otherbug tour. Otherbug is Will's new
east coast project. Here's the details on the tour & band:
10/16/02 Club Metronome - Burlington, VT
10/17/02 Bill's Bar - Boston, MA (opening for Lake Trout)
10/18/02 Tobacco Road - NYC
Will Bernard (Guitar) is an AMAZING guitarist from the Bay Area who has
dominated the local club scene for years. He may be best know for his work
in TJ Kirk with Charlie Hunter. Will was just recently added to the lineup
of Robert Walter's 20th Congress. You may have also seen Will tearing it up
with the Trey Anastasio band at this years Mt. Aire Festival which was the
highlight of the 3 day run. Will currently heads up Motherbug in San Fran &
now OTHERBUG in NYC.
Joe Russo's (Drums) highly respected Jamband projects include Fat Mama,
Electron & The Big Unit to name a few. Joe is a tremendously versatile NYC
drummer. He is currently a part of the new lineup for Robert Walters 20th
Congress with Will & he also has a drum/organ duo with Marco Benevento that
is SICK!
Justin Wallace (Bass) comes to us fresh off a tour of Japan. Justin is a
former member of ulu & brings serious energy to the pot. He's played in
numerous Super Jams with the likes of Eric Krasno, Al Schnier, DJ Logic,
Robert Walter & Stanton Moore
Marco Benevento (Organ, Keys) is a monster behind the Hammond B-3. He is
currently a member of the Jazz Farmers with the Barr brothers from The Slip.
His organ work is phenomenal, evoking a melange of Keith Emerson, Jimmy
Smith, Medeski & beyond.
Otherbug Show Web Site: http://showinfo.freewebspace.com/index.html
Drop me an e mail at mikerailey123@comcast.net if your interested in helping
out.
THANKS!!
Mike

I can't believe anyone could say anything negative about this person.
Not only is he a gentleman, he is also one of the most reliable
distributors of digital equipment I have ever dealt with. Dan was also
kind enough to spin me about 9 complete show, incredible Grateful Dead
DSBDS when I first got into trading, asking for nothing but blank DATS
in return. He has also sent me many great shows since, being cool
enough to trust me to reciprocate in the future. I can't imagine that
you will find a nicer guy to purchase from, or trade with anywhere.
