I read your post about the Rush Las VBegas recording you've done so I know that you're out there... As you don't wanna answer my emails I just want to know if you're gonna send me the 16 Garbage cds you own me since this June... And for you other guys, if you're interested in the Rush recording, my advice is to be sure you'll get your stuff before you send something out to Mark.... New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! http://sbc.yahoo.com ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: RE: W2K Digital Output - Was DIO2496 Windows 2k Date: Tue, 01 Oct 2002 01:01:24 -0700 From Jamie Lutch "the best option is to get a non-Maudio card, with real drivers. I for one am sick of m-audio blaming windows for their driver shortfalls. There is a whole host of cards out there that work fine in win2k w/24 bit" From my perspective, there is another choice. W2K is an upgraded version of NT4.0, not 98. It is designed primarily as an O/S for server based network's. If you are running your digital audio work on a PC that is part of a server based Network, then I agree with Jamie's solution. I have a small network in my home running W98 on 3 computers that are mine, it is all run Peer to Peer, and I have an M-Audio Delta Dio 2496 in a p3 with a gig of RAM on an Asus CUBX-E board. I had a computer with W2K in the system, and it started administrating the network, controling access to the W2K boxes data, and not allowing other computers on the network to DL, saying I needed to put in a password that doesn't exist to perform certain tasks. The computer with the W2K is a Dell 4100 with a P3 1 ghz. As I don't run an application or data server based network in my home, I don't need an O/S for an application or data server based network. I got rid of the computer with W2K, I could have reformatted to W98, but I was going to have to give the Dell wih W2K back, so I just got rid f that computer, built one similar to it, with W98. Now I have a properly functioning Peer to Peer netwrk, aand no more W2K. I had even bought a cpy f W2K and was ging to put that n all 3 computers. Instead I sold the brand new copy of W2K and decidd to keep running W98. For me, I'd rather not run an OS that has a HCL. New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! http://sbc.yahoo.com ------------------------------ From: Michael O'Malley Subject: bowery ballroom security lately? Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2002 11:31:18 -0700 (PDT) d'oh Sorry about that last one. hit the enter key accidentally. Bowery the last time I was there (7/4 KDTU) was as relaxed as usual. Irving Plaza is wanding, but nothing special, they basically wand your waist (it of course goes off) and they just let you pass anyway. Last Friday when the wand went off, they just passed me to some guy who felt my pockets. Didn't have to take anything out. Also checked my backpack and Pelican case "just looking for cans and bottles" again a quick once over, but not really poking around. BWT Mamacita 8-11-2002 Berkfest Hillside Stage. Oktava MK012s(cards)>mod. UA5>D8 on 1 CD or 1 60m. Great kickass jazz-funk. Mike O'Malley __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
