The good news is that there were some pretty good rigs that did get in,
and
we do have good recordings of the event.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So guess we will be able to expect a sizable B&P offer or tree
from you or one of the other 5-10 tapers that did pull good tape??????

appreciate that excellent little insight about what really happenend. i hope
you didn't get shafted but if you did it's was nice to read an informative
piece on the taping scene there instead of a rant :)
i'm hearing particle jammed until 6am somewhere @ there last night?
anyone happen to catch that on tape?
also on this bogus ticketbastard 'employee strike' thing floating-
too bad it's probably not true but sure would be great to her them choke on
their own greed.
and if any bands fans have a large enough and organized community that
**could** slay the mighty beast - YOU guys would be our best hope ------->
GO GET THEM!!!!
remember: they are ripping us ALL off and only if ALL fans were to join
together and boycott, harass and demand changes at ticketbastard will we
ever stand a chance of seeing shows for reasonable prices again.
we may not all like the same band but i'm sure we all like fair prices :)

Someone seemed to think they were being singled out because they offered up
a show on CD? Are you paranoid or do you just feel guilty? Plenty of
people offer up shows on CD only.....this frustrates me as well.....the last
time I checked, I thought this was DATheads too! How can it be considered
rude to say that you are only looking for DAT trades on a DAT list??? Sure,
we have to accept the facts of life that some of us on the list may be
unideckers or unable to send DAT tapes for one reason or another.....nothing
wrong with that. But by the same token, some of us on the list do not have
the means to copy CD's or transfer their DAT tapes to CD.....some of us
don't even WANT CD's and would rather have DAT! Is this rude to state so on
a DAT list? Does this make me "a turkey" as well? Or is it more rude to
offer up something on the list as "DAT ONLY" and have half the responses you
get ask "can you send it to me on CD"? This type of frustration for those
of us who have no CD capabilty is probably what prompted the "rude" comment.
No way could any one person have reason to feel that they alone are being
singled out. Last time I checked, this was America, and we ALL have the
freedom to offer up our trades any way we want. I'll also continue to offer
my masters up on DAT only, and continue to ask for DAT's in trade.....after
all, this IS the correct forum to do that. But those who are limited to
only being able to offer something up on CD have no more reason to take that
as an insult than I have reason to feel insulted by someone offering up a
DAT master on CD. Why can't we just all appreciate the fact that someone
has been kind enough to tape something you might like and offer up their
masters in the first place, regardless of how they do it? THANKS to the
many kind and understanding souls who have put up with long waits (or are
still waiting) for DAT>CD transfers or CD>CD copies from me, have done
DAT>CD or CD>DAT transfers for me, or have even taken DAT tapes in trade
that they cannot themselves play back, let alone copy. BWT time coming up
again
soon.....yeah, it's been awhile, but when I do it I at least make it
good.....
Thanks for yet another posting,

For George and anyone else interested, even if there will not be taping
allowed at this show, it's still well worth the effort to stealth at this
venue.....they have a great PA and great acoustics. When I was there for
King Crimson & John Paul Jones in Dec. of last year, there was NO search at
the door.....they weren't even asking people to open backpacks or bags (mind
you, this is in downtown DC, not very long after the terrorist attacks, and
with a notoriously anti-taping headliner)! Surely I would expect the same
situation for a band as taper friendly as Little Feat. Once you are inside,
however, there is PLENTY of security and they watch closely, so setting up
once inside will be your hardest part of stealthing here.....good luck and
have fun.....

This mailinglist is about Digital Audio Taping. Whether it's to tape,
hard disk, CD, compact flash, or core, as long as it's digital, it
counts.
Asking for specific formats is fine; I don't think anybody supports
all possible acceptable formats (and if you think you do, I'll be glad
to invent a new one just to prove you wrong :-)

no offers for the set come through.
Also-- I have one pair of Nakamichi CM300 mics. Bodies are very well
worn but mics work fine. Includes CP1 (cardioid) and CP2 (omni)

Ira,
Thanx for your follow-up report about the taping scene at the Jammy's. Have
you sent it to Jambands.com or any of the other online magazines??
Currently, I can only spin DATs on my 2 home decks. But I would be totally
willing to be a branch on a tree and spin DATs for others for the chance to
get clones for myself.
Is there any chance that we could tree this event to help the tapers that
could not get their rigs get tapes of the show, as well as others who live
too far away to attend.....???
I am willing to help out any way possible.
Peace,
D-Rider

American Digital has a leather fanny pack that they sell for about $13. I
have one, and it fits my D8, stealth mics, batteries and a couple of tapes.
I wear it under my hanging-out shirttail, and it's fairly well hidden.
Hope that helps.

Hi Brian,
This is not what you asked for, but it's worth mentioning. Samplitude can
probably do this for you depending upon how bad the clipping is. Here's a
tip: you can still probably download the demo and it works for 90-days.
Download from www.samplitude.com (Magix), click on the "downloads" tab.
They have also got some new competitive upgrade pricing for version 6 which
you might be interested in. Samplitude is a very full-featured product with
a lot of goodies in it which usually you have to buy separately with other
softwares or use plug-ins. Your 24-bit files can be imported into Samp's
float format. When done you can export as 24-bit if you wish, or dither it
down from within the software. It also burns CD's straight from within the
editor.
This isn't the same thing, but copies of Magix Studio might be found at some
retailers. It might have the declipper, but I'm not certain on that. It's
cheap though, and I've heard some talk of a rebate with it. I can probably
find out for you whether that product has the declipper function from the
sekd newsgroup.

Dude, chill on Marc. He's a great trader and stands by his word. He is one
of the guys who got me running with my collection and I still appreciate his
help in doing that.
As he stated, he was travelling for Rush. I travel for Dylan and try my
best to get trades done before I leave on a trip. But sometimes that
doesn't happen. I think an added bit of patience should be added for any
trade with a taper, not knowing where they are bound to tape next. I mean,
we are the ones going to the shows to make tapes to trade, eh?
[Now, I don't want to start a bash war like messages like this can cause at

That's my piece. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but I just don't want
Marc's name pulled down for one slow trade.

Interested in taping feat and henley instead of
hitting the wilco 9:30 club shows on the same nights
in DC. will of course pay the difference in ticket
prices if we can work out a ticket trade as the 9:30
tickets were only $32 as opposed to the higher prices
of the other shows.
I wasn't aware until someone here told me that Feat's
special guests include Jackson Browne, Warren Haynes
and Bela Fleck (among others) and that Feat's usual
open taping policy will not be in effect for this
show.
I'm also sick of 9:30 club's corner of the floor
taping section. I'd rather avoid giving them anymore
of my business in the future.
