What's even more amusing is...what's it really matter?
I mean, what's the worse that could happen? Someone
would get mad because the RIAA is pulling some more
ridiculous shit all in the name of "the artist"?
I say the more the merrier.
On a related note, anyone in the music business and
on this list want to comment on how they help or
benefit the artists - beyond their seemingly vacuous
claims (as I see it anyway)?

i'm sure everyone's heard about the BS getting in, so I won't get into that except to say they even broke their own "made up" rules. gotta love how they said "limited to 10" yet somehow 14 stands were up...what a bunch of BS all night
anyway, i will have my stuff in SHN this afternoon and tomorrow, and while I realize this is a DAT list, i figure people on here might be interested in SHN uploads to help spread some of the tunes.
4022s ortf center, i got everythig but ratdog, i had to make a train home so i bailed after mule. sounds pretty decent from the little mule i heard while transferring to comp last night
so if you have a server and want an upload, email me. please don't email me asking for dat clones, this is just a shn upload offer for now, other offers will come later.
again, no ratdog, but i got the other 5.5 hours and i'm sure everyone else got ratdog so you can grab that later :)

John - We have traded before in the past, so I'm not trying to start any
sort of arguement here...You bring up some VERY validated points, and I tend
to agree with them. My reponses:
>>Someone seemed to think they were being singled out because they offered
>>up a show on CD? Are you paranoid or do you just feel guilty? <<
Neither....Its the WAY it was done. If somebody only wants DAT, then state
it with a little more class instead of saying 'NO cdr. Last time I checked
this was DATheads, not CDRheads.' YES - That is RUDE.
<< offer up something on the list as "DAT ONLY" and have half the responses
you get ask "can you send it to me on CD"? This type of frustration for
those of us who have no CD capabilty is probably what prompted the "rude"
comment. >>
Which is the reason I FULLY STATED that these are my DAT masters, and I can
only send CDR. I fully AGREE if people want DATs only...Just don't be RUDE
about it.
<< No way could any one person have reason to feel that they alone are being
singled out. Last time I checked, this was America, and we ALL have the
freedom to offer up our trades any way we want. I'll also continue to offer
my masters up on DAT only, and continue to ask for DAT's in trade.....after
all, this IS the correct forum to do that. But those who are limited to
only being able to offer something up on CD have no more reason to take that
as an insult than I have reason to feel insulted by someone offering up a
DAT master on CD. Why can't we just all appreciate the fact that someone
has been kind enough to tape something you might like and offer up their
masters in the first place, regardless of how they do it? >>
Now it sounds like your on MY side of things. I agree 110%. I do have the
ability to clone DAT, but my D100 needs work on the digital 7pin in/out. I
would much rather offer these shows RIGHT NOW, than have to wait until my
deck is repaired.
Yes, I DO realize this is a DAT board - but I certainly hope there is a
place for people with DAT masters converted to cdr. If nobody likes it that
way - fine ! But there are better ways of stating you want DAT only, that
throwing in a couple of pot shots. I find it VERY similar when certain
people BASH others with lower end mics instead of having Neumann's or
Schoeps. If a show is above average in quality, WHO REALLY CARES if it was
made with Schoeps or Sonic Studios or even Core Sound ?????
My apologies to all who seem offended by this - but I know there is a high
demand for McCartney, Stones, and Springsteen shows....So in order for me to
get them out quickly, I can only offer cdr. So far, I've had MANY takers -
so hopefully all will be well in DATland....If not, I'll see you when I'm
cloning again....

This is the Pro Digital I/O cable for Sony decks that I purchased new from
Cascade Media last January and used just a few times. It's not the
switchable/active type but has the separate in/out RCAs. Paid $165.00, have
receipt. Asking for $100.00 and I'll pay for shipping, insurance and COD.

Jeff, don't you think you would react the same way as the 16 cds trade we
agreed on was our first trade. I did send the cds 3,5 months ago and still
haven't recived mine. And when you're e-mailing asking why the cds are
delayed, no replys.....
I've been recording and trading shows since 1988 so I guess I know a little
how it works... If I know that I'll be away for a long time I don't take
trades and I definitely answers my e-mails....
Cheers, Robert

From all the hoopla with these drives, I thought I
would post a great deal! I have three of these here
and would like to finally get rid of them! $44 each
shipped with an optional $2.50 insurance charge.
BTW-I am NOT the person posting about these
everyday……so don’t FLAME me, just trying to pass on a
good deal…
I use these and love them! Once your all up and going
it is a great way to dump onto the hard-drive or
clone!
SEAGATE DAT TAPE DRIVE WITH AUDIO SUPPORT:
CTD8000H-S/CTD8000R-S
This Peregrine series DAT drive has 4GB native
capacity with 120m tapes and 8GB hardware compressed
capacity. SCSI interface. This drive supports both
data and DAT audio and can read/write audio at 2.2x
with special software for the PC, e.g. vdat or
dat2wav. SCSI inquiry string reports "ARCHIVE Python
01931-XXX 5AC". The drive is used, but has been
tested: works great! Drive, 5.25" faceplate and rails
INCLUDED!. I take PAYPAL, MO, or check. Insurance is
optional at $2.50.

Date: Sat, 5 Oct 2002 10:12:48 -0400
My D7 is going up once again. I had someone all lined up to take it but he
decided to get something else. I'm surprised that I didn't get more
offers...I know my asking price was way too high but I was hoping to get
some sort of haggeling going! The last person I was dealing with had me down
to $360. I know that you can get a D8 for about this same price but it won't
come with the Sony 7-Pin cable and a clean bill of health from Pro Digital
(warranty still good until November 11th). Here's what's included:
- Sony 7-pin digital IN cord (buy a decent splitter and patching is easy)
- Core-Sound digital I/O cable (best for home use, I've also used it in the
field)
- Sony wall wart power supply
- original battery holder (4 AA's)
- home made 4 D-Cell battery sled that will power the D7 for 8-10 hours (or
more)
- fake leather case
Again, I REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF THIS SO MAKE ME AN OFFER...even if all
you have to offer is a stick of gum or a pair of old shoelaces, I'll
consider it:) Thanks...
Mike Beebe
