I've got this card, the way I use it is to just record the source in to Cool
Edit Pro and then normalise it, as far as I'm aware you can't adjust the
volume of the source.

First thing I'd try is different software. I burn all my (audio) CDs with
EAC. It works well, is designed for exact reproduction (it's also an audio
extractor), and best of all it's free. Go to www.exactaudiocopy.de to
download a copy. It doesn't have dancing notes while you wait for your CD
(or other interface "fanciness"), but for me it works very well. It also has
a simple wav editor/recorder that can com in handy too.

Core Sound 7 pin passive I/O cable for sale. This has
never been used and was only taken out of the package
once. Turns out I had to have an active cable for my
intended use, so I've got no need for it. I'll also throw in
a CS 7 pin passive in (coax to 7 pin) cable with the deal.
The 2 cables retail for $115 ($70 for the in/out, $45 for
the in), I'll take $50 for 'em both.

I have the Oade modified PCM-1 with Micro
Microphones. And I am usually impressed with the
results.. with no additional equipment to lug around.
the only complaint i have is the cord is flimsy and
too short.... took me awhile to get a system down so
as not to yank the cord from the machine.

I just received a "Digestifier" message that was bogus
and NOT from DatHeads. It was disguised to look as if
it was. It is confirmed to have the "bugbear" virus as
an attachment with a .scr extension.

the originate from infected DAT-heads users. The best that I
can do is when you receive those, if you provide the "sender"
address to dat-heads-owner, I can try to located the infected
user. Basically programmers are getting better at social
engineering.
I personally did not get it, so I do not believe it was sent
through the exploder, instead directly to users (perhaps
who had posted?), but I will double-check the stuff
which prevents direct posting.
