From: "MattB" <matt@mattb.net> Subject: Re: DAT-heads Digest #504 Date: Wed, 9 Oct 2002 15:29:14 -0600 First thing I'd try is different software. I burn all my (audio) CDs with EAC. It works well, is designed for exact reproduction (it's also an audio extractor), and best of all it's free. Go to www.exactaudiocopy.de to download a copy. It doesn't have dancing notes while you wait for your CD (or other interface "fanciness"), but for me it works very well. It also has a simple wav editor/recorder that can com in handy too. Matt > ------------------------------ > > From: greg weston <gregweston@frenzmail.net> > Subject: sorry, a CDR burning question > Reply-To: gregweston@frenzmail.net > Date: Tue, 8 Oct 2002 17:48:36 -0700 (PDT) > > > > I wasn't sure where to ask since this is a CDR question but maybe some kind folk(s) could point me in the right direction. > Due to some recent pc problems, we recently had a cheap CDRW writer installed (Lite-On 40/12/48 IDE running with Win 98) and even though it offers DAO, it is still putting in brief gaps in-between tracks (not the full 2 second gaps associated with TAO but ultra brief gaps) on my CDs. The crappy software that came with the burner doesn't offer WAV or anything like that. Will I need to add a software package in order to solve my problem? The included software also doesn't seem to allow me to store the master CD onto the harddrive either. Can anyone offer me some advice or at least point me to a website where my questions can be answered by another person online? I've dreaded the day I'd have to start doing trading via computer where I am a complete idiot instead of DAT>DAT where i am only marginally an idiot. At least my DAT clones come out the way i want them. > Thanks! > Greg > > p.s. answers private and public are equally welcomed. > my DAT list can be found at this crappy page: > http://greg-weston.tripod.com/DATlist.html > also some recent concert photos can be found at: > http://www.imagestation.com/members/greg_weston > _____________________________________________________________ > Select your own custom email address for FREE! From: "Nick Graham" <nickg@mindspring.com> Subject: FS: Core Sound 7 Pin Cable Date: Wed, 9 Oct 2002 18:42:22 -0500 Core Sound 7 pin passive I/O cable for sale. This has never been used and was only taken out of the package once. Turns out I had to have an active cable for my intended use, so I've got no need for it. I'll also throw in a CS 7 pin passive in (coax to 7 pin) cable with the deal. The 2 cables retail for $115 ($70 for the in/out, $45 for the in), I'll take $50 for 'em both. Nick nickg@mindspring.com
From: Matthew Thayer <mattt317@yahoo.com> Subject: Oade Micro Mics Date: Wed, 9 Oct 2002 16:51:30 -0700 (PDT) I have the Oade modified PCM-1 with Micro Microphones. And I am usually impressed with the results.. with no additional equipment to lug around. the only complaint i have is the cord is flimsy and too short.... took me awhile to get a system down so as not to yank the cord from the machine. cheers, matt __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Sigh. Good thing McAfee is on the job. For what its worth, these do not originate from the digestifier... the originate from infected DAT-heads users. The best that I can do is when you receive those, if you provide the "sender" address to dat-heads-owner, I can try to located the infected user. Basically programmers are getting better at social engineering. I personally did not get it, so I do not believe it was sent through the exploder, instead directly to users (perhaps who had posted?), but I will double-check the stuff which prevents direct posting.
