After standing in line to get in for at least 45 mins, I decided not to attempt to take the DAT in & get sent back to the car (and then have to stand in line again). Needless to say, the show was amazing. If anyone managed to get any recording equipment in, please let me know. Lots to trade... As it turns out, the show is on a different night than I anticipated and I'm not going to be able to make it (I'm going to a wedding - joy) -Josh --- Peter Costello wrote: > From: "Peter Costello" > To: sprung598@yahoo.com > Subject: Yohimbe Bros Taping > Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 21:46:27 +0000 > > Hey, > > I'm on the road with them serving as FOH. Online they're $14.99 for $50, less a $10 mail-in rebate, with free shipping. In-store locally they came up at the register as the same, but the price card on the shelf said $11.99 which of course they honored. $1.99 plus some tax net price for 50 high-quality Japan-made discs ain't too shabby. -- Mark Mayhle mark@mayhle.com ------------------------------ From: Smagmapig333@aol.com Subject: RE: 2496 Audiophile card/software Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 18:50:51 EDT >I've got this card, the way I use it is to just record the source in to Cool >Edit Pro and then normalize it, as far as I'm aware you can't adjust the >volume of the source. > >Duncan If your using the RCA analog inputs you can adjust the input volume with the Monitor Mixer located in the M Audio Delta Control Panel. I was wondering if anyone has any of the following MMW shows on DAT to trade: 11.24.98 11.27.98 12.2.98 12.3.98 7.22.99 10.24.99 11.2.99 11.19.99 2.13.00 6.9.00 6.10.00 11.14.00 any europe '01 (or '02 for that matter ;) 2.10.01 4.25.01 10.19.01 4.17.02 5.8.02 I've got almost every other show they've played since '98 in SHN or WAV CD format - yes I have a serious problem. FWIW once I finish w/ a DAT I like to archive it in SHN CD format and trade away the DAT. I currently have several '02 DATs including a few Schoeps sourced shows from the recent, amazing 8/02 Tonic run that I've already archived. The link to my list is below. Quality is my primary concern so you can be assured you'll get quality stuff in return. Hopefully I'll hear from some of ya'll before too long. Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 20:34:34 -0400 Howdy folks, I can't remember where I saw this type of cable but need to invest in one. The one i did see was a usb > rca i/o and optical i/o pretty cool unit for only 90 bucks. But over last weekend someone told me of a usb > rca i/o for $45. If anyone knows where to find either of these please send me a link. Couldn't find anything on oade, masterpiece, or am-dig. Thanks everybody! -Mike _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ From: John Joyce Subject: FS: 3 wooden DAT racks Date: Thu, 10 Oct 2002 22:06:27 -0500 Subject says it all. I have 3 50-spot wooden DAT racks for sale. 2 are in a light maple, 1 is a darker cherry (?). I can't remember if these had a brand name. I bought them from this very list a few years ago, but I can't find the original "FS" post! Each rack is 5 columns x 10 rows, and each spot is its own compartment (i.e. lots of wood!). I don't have a digital camera so I can't offer any pics. Condition is decent, they have scratches and are a bit worn but all the wood is completely intact and functional. I'll take the best offer, plus let's say $10 USPS shipping to anywhere in the lower 48. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them. I want to sell them rather than chuck them into my dumpster. Reason for selling: I upgraded to a 374-spot DAT rack from Uncle John's Woodshop. I`m running a Mac with OS-X. Mike ------------------------------ From: Todd Romero Subject: GP DMIC-20 gain MOD! Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 04:18:48 -0400 (EDT) The major gripe i, and many people have about the DMIC-20 is the inability to fine-tune the levels beyond the 5db increments that the dip switches set, making it almost impossible to set the level optimally with peaks hitting 0db. sometimes you have to suffer with peaks at -4db, which means the average level could be -8db to -6db, so needless to say, the quality of your recording suffers. otherwise, its a really nice sounding preamp - A/D combo. to overcome this problem, i have engineered a MOD for the DMIC-20 in order to have more control over the gain level setting. this includes mounting 2 trim pots on the face plate above the dip switches, that allow fine-tuning of the gain between the 5db increments that the dip switches set. this is similar to the way you control the gain on the apogee ad1000 for example. if you own a DMIC-20 and want this MOD, drop me an email to discuss details, and i can send you a picture, etc. regards, todd ------------------------------ From: "Bill Lakenan" Subject: DAT Giveaway Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 07:49:05 -0400 Greetings, I'm getting rid of some DATs and would like to trade them for blank CDRs. I'll take 50 Mitsui silvers or 100 Fuji (made in Japan) CDRs in return for the following 30 DATs. I'm assuming a value of roughly $1/blank, which seems reasonable. I'm not trying to make an $$$ from this, just feeding one obsession with another. First person to email me at blakenan@yahoo.com gets 'em. This unit does definetely not affect the bits of the data stream, it just recovers the signal and gives it to the output.
