They are a great new band from Manchester, reminiscent of Joy Division and Gang of Four. If anyone has an FM or great audience tape of them, I'd love to trade. Second, I am really interested in stealth video taping. I have a Sony PC-5 DV camcorder, which I bought because it is super small and would be easy to sneak in, but I am worried about the screen being seen, etc. If anyone has any tips on this or knows of a FAQ designated for this purpose, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Wes Kindtaper@aol.com p.s. All of you who responded to the NY offer..they're coming! ------------------------------ From: "Jagjit Chadha" Subject: Re: Dat-heads digest #506 Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 22:12:20 +0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. =======_NextPart_000_7850_6c02_2f86 Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed Thanks Aman for backing me up. Considering the price of an HS-4 90 meter at Terrapin Tapes (which I assume most of us purchase blanks from) is $3 a piece. And since I mentioned in my initial post to DAT-heads that the majority of tapes are on HS-4 90 meters, not SOny DATS (my decks hate sony tapes), there shouldn't seem to be anything "schmeeky" about it. I understand your concern though and thank you for your reply. But the fact of the matter is that I'm offering these tapes back to spread the music while making back what I payed for the blanks . In fact, I think I'm losing money on them since I remember the price being a little cheaper a couple of years ago and I pay for postage. They've been rewound and kept in a dustfree DATrack I built, very rarely played and well preserved. This all really doens't matter anyways since all the tapes have been taken anyways (thanks to all that replied!!!!) But I thank you for your concern and assure you that this is no scam. In reply to your e-mail.  There's nothing "schmeeky" about it.  How much is a blank anyway?  Terrapin Tapes sells HS490s for $3.00 plus shipping.  The person selling Dats w/ recorded music on it is doing the community a favor.  Many of us are burning our Dats onto CD or DVD audio for archival purposes and think he/she is charging a fair price not to mention they are including shipping.  There's no greediness about it.  DO your research before making allegations about fellow Dat Heads.  C'mon, it's not about profit, it's about getting extra dats out to those who want it and to make room for others (CDs, DVDs, Dats).
