My tape came out blank, which I'm more than a little bit sore about - anybody ? I was examining the start of the tape and saw that there are 2 diagonal creases on the tape a few seconds into the tape - where the sound disappears from the tape. Is this a sign that the recorder has flipped the tape back to front and recorded on the reverse side. And clutching at straws here, has anybody ever tried to rewind such a tape into a new tape shell flipping the tape side and actually got music from it ? thanks Wayne ------------------------------ From: "DRider" Subject: FS: 12v/7a SLA Battery & Charger Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2002 08:10:29 -0400 Hey Now! I was hoping to wire up a new battery system to run my gear, but after checking the specs of my components I don't believe it's gonna work........... I have a 12 volt / 7 amp Universal Battery - Sealed Lead-Acid Battery ~ never been used ~ Plus, a Battery Tender Junior charger - also ~ never used ~ Both items were purchased at Batteries Plus in Atlanta and I live TOO far away to return them. (6 hours) The charger is exactly the same as the charger a person would get w/ an Eco-Charge. This amperage is enough to power most of your larger type components for quite some time. I need to get what I paid for them, since they have never been used. $70.00 takes them both. Please contact if interested. He had fifth row left side 13 feet from the left stack. While most rookies make many mistakes, my instructions (and lots of gaff tape on the gear) prevented some of the obvious ones...I told him to set the levels (told him to be safe at -12db) after the second song and just leave them alone and enjoy the show...he didnt do that....But instead of making the obvious mistake of of cranking levels down when the crowd noise peaked, then craking them back down when Dave began another song...nope he managed to do something i had never thought of screwing up.. He set the levels way too low (-30db) then between songs he cranked up the crowd noise till they peak for about 1 minute, then he cranks them back down to -30...WTF??? man i never would have thought even a rookie might make that mistake...I hope someone out there reads this and it clears things up in thier head...When I asked him what he was thinking....He backpedaled a bit and said my gear was screwy and confusing (when everything is taped off except the Hold, the Light and the Volume knob.) Anyway...thats lame...Im sure someone got an MK4 source or similar, which I will find for myself...Anyone want this POS? ;) I will however offer to upload anyting on my master recordings list to the first 5 server ops that email me... http://www.phishhook.com/lists/ccrobinson?listid=3 ccrobinson _________________________________________________________________ Broadband? Dial-up? I donīt know how exact the digital signal processing of the two softwares works (i.e. how many bits are used for calculating from 32 up to 44.1 KHz sampling rate). Perhaps you can find more information on this in the manuals or online-help. The more bits it uses, the better it can sound. But the best measure instrument is still the ear and not the computer for sounds ! Mathias ------------------------------ From: Mathias Rombach Subject: Re: bit perfect soundcard question Date: Sat, 26 Oct 2002 03:45:14 +0200 Hello, when you have a DAT tape with 48 (or 32) KHz sampling rate and want to burn a usual CD, it has definetely to be resampled. Usual CDs use 44.1 KHz sampling rate. As far as I remember the information about the sampling rate is included in the SPDIF-datastream. The software of the soundcard should recognize that for a proper work. So, when copying from 44.1 KHZ-DAT to CD, the soundcard should recognize the information "44.1 KHz samplingrate" from the incoming datastream and resampling should not take place (depending on the type of the soundcard).
