Well, thanks to some help here I could find out that the Sony RK-DA10 cable
can only be used for input.
Apparently there is an input & output cable sold by Core-Sound that is
reasonably priced, even if you have to be careful with the pins because
they have no protection around them.
So what I wonder is two things:
1) Where can I get a connector like that, be it the original Sony one or
the one Core-Sound uses?
2) Has anyone modified the RK-DA10 cable to add an output to it?
A map for the pins can be found at the Sony D8 Resource Guide site:
http://www.rockpark.com/d7/
The RK-DA10 7-pin connector can be opened, and there seems to be small pcb
circuit inside. Anyone found out what's the diagram?

Hello, colleagues,
I own a Sony DTC-690 and I wonder, if it can be hacked to enable recording
from analog input at 44.1kHz samplerate. I bought a DTC-1000 (nice
machine) to my friends and it have been hacked this way.
Also I'd like to ask you for a schematics or service manual for DTC-690,
it can help me.

I taped them in St. Louis at Mississippi Nights with no complaints. I
even had a roadie come up to me after the show and give me a setlist.
ISTR a post earlier this month saying that taping is encouraged by the
band.

Subject: BWT time.....
Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2002 15:03:23 -0500
Ok fellow datheads, time for another kickass BWT.....this time, it's
something that is super cool and super rare and super uncirculated: Poobah
10/19/02 at Chipper's / Classic Rock Cafe in Youngstown, OH. This one was
well worth the 6 hour roadtrip. The show was fantastic, with the band
stretching out all the songs into 10 minute guitar workouts. Only negative
thing I can say about the show is too many cover tunes, which I was told the
band was required to play at this venue and not usually part of their
set.....even so, it smoked....their version of Satisfaction rivals any
Taylor-era version of the song I've heard....old school kick ass rock and
roll for sure, to the 10th exponent. For those of you who may not know who
this band even is, check out the following link:
http://www.monsterrecords.com/monster/poobah.html
Note that the discography provided in the link is incomplete.....there are
about 5 more self-released albums that Monster Records does not plan to
reissue at this time.
People have raved to me about this band for years, telling me if I ever see
one of their albums, to buy it immediately, as it is something that good and
that rare....it certainly lived up to the hype! I cannot recommend the
albums or shows highly enough.....any tapers in eastern OH, get out there
and get these shows on tape! The band is 100% taper friendly for both audio
and video. Anyone tape the performance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?
Goldmine magazine claims these guys are "the most collectible rock band in
the world".....after driving 6 hours to finally hear this band, it's easy to
see why. Anyways, on with the bwt.....listen up:
I like to make these things fair to digesters, so here's how it
works.....this should appear in digest #529.....I'm going to accept the LAST
5 responses I receive before digest #530 lands in my inbox....of course, if
you don't get a response from me, you didn't make it. Here's the goodies:
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th to last respondants get a CD of 100% unreleased and
uncirculated practice sessions from 1973....about 30 minutes worth of
material.....not sure of how they were mastered or transferred to CD, but I
got my CD copy direct from the band and the quality is A+. Analog master
(probably multitrack) > ? > my CD > your CD.
The second to last respondant gets either the videotape or DAT of the
10/19/02 show, depending on the last respondant's choice.
The lucky last respondant gets the 10/19/02 show, their choice of either VHS
or DAT:
DAT: Nak 300's > D7 (line in), FOB center....DAT master > DAT (3
hour/90m)...A quality
VHS: DV master, FOB just left of center, tripod shot....DV master > VHS
(160 minute tape)
Good luck to you all in guessing when digest #530 will appear. Note that
this is NOT a B&P....these are being mailed out with no strings
attached.....no B's, no P, no trade necessary....just send me a mailing
address. This should hopefully satisfy my BWT requirements again for some
time and I can sleep peacefully once again.....

Anyone in IN taping a band called Amulet? Really interested in these
guys.....more kickass old school rock, check out the link below for more
info:

Not sure if they have any policy or not on taping, but should be well worth
the stealth....
Or how about the Talas reunion show? Anyone get this? I would have
roadtripped for this one had I known about it in time:

I'm majorly interested in any Talas recordings....
