Anyone pull a tape of this show at the Tradewinds in Sea Bright NJ last
night? Bruce sat in with Joe Grushecky and the HouseRockers, and Garland
Jefferies and Gary US Bonds came out also.

Ryan is pro-taping in general (cf. his comments in a recent Denver
newspaper article) and sometimes, but now always, allows board access.
I understand that a couple of tapers had board access at the ACL Fest
(end of September) although they managed to mess up both their tapes
somewhat.
Here in Chicago I heard there were signs posted at the venue saying that
taping was in fact permitted.
In the interview I mention Ryan talks about how he grew up with boots
(he said he had more Grateful Dead boots than legit releases) and
benefited a lot from hearing them, therefore he thinks it would be
hypocritical for him to do anything anti-taping... I guess sometimes he
allows board taping and sometimes he doesn't.

Hey All,
Blue New World will be playing at the Elbo Room (3871 N. Lincoln
Ave - 773-549-5549) on Saturday, 11/9 and I wondered if anyone on
this list would be able to attend/tape. I'd be happy to upload to
anyone interested shns or mp3s (to make it faster) a copy of a show
of theirs from May. You can also listen to tracks from their latest
album at bluenewworld.com. If interested, please contact me and
I'll do what I can to get you in touch with the band to maybe get
you on the list or something like that.
Thanks for the help!

I'm parting with a couple items, the nicest of which is a Nakamichi 680ZX.
Next to the Dragon, this is the classic. The salient feature of this deck
is the auto azimuth, which dynamically monitors the optimum azimuth of the
cassette throughout playback. I'll send further photos of the deck if
you're interested.

To be honest, a lot of time "full" means that people just don't want to make
space for any other equipment. We all know this happens. Oftentimes it's
justified, there is only so much space and you don't want 12 people crawling
all over your gear to start their decks. Or maybe you are running your rig
where you really aren't supposed to, and staff is turning a blind eye as long
as you keep it low profile. However, sometimes an overzealous patcher will
take it upon themself to cut off the chain (maybe to ensure that they have
enough room to work). I think that is lame, and shouldn't happen. If the
taper running the rig doesn't ask a patcher to "monitor" things, then IMO the
patcher doesn't have any right to tell people they can't patch. Of course
things are different if it's reserved seating or if it's your rig, etc.
Just my 0.02,
Eric

hey now - I taped the Banyan show from here in San Francisco 10/12/02 - Elbo
Room and have it for trade only. Source AKG461>MV100>SBM-1>DA7 (onstage).
This is on 2 CDR's as I dont really trade DAT anymore. I have already done
a bunch of b&p's of this for folks so now am only interested in trading for
other Banyan, Hell Ride, or Mike Watt stuff. High quality Jane's Addiction
also considered. Am not interested in stealth recordings and only
recordings done with quality equipment. Hit me with an email and your list
and Ill get back to you.
Be Well
Brad
