I have made lots of amazing recordings with this, (mostly FOBS actually) and have recordings to prove it :) im convinced the mics get looked down upon simply cause they dont cost an arm and a leg :) stuff is all 2years old. and I have original reciepts for *everything*. Also, I have mod'd the DMIC-20 by adding the gain potentiometers to allow for fine tuning. (the design was blessed by Graham Patten). (I have done the mod for other people for $100) I will be putting all this up as a package on Ebay in a week or so. everything totalled up above is $1773. plan to do a 'buy now' option on ebay for $1250, with an $1100 reserve. So i will sell here for $1100 as a complete rig. if i dont sell on ebay or here i will consider breaking up items. thanks, todd

Thanks! > > The secret is don't use AOL. It sucks. For a more useful comment. - Anyone having trouble posting to DAT-heads because of "HTML content" should read the directions from dat-heads-help@datheads.phish.net In the case of AOL the select and right click worked through version 5 (I believe), but 6 & 7 reqiure different tricks. Version 8 is reported to only send HTML, but as of Netscape 7 you can use that to read AOL email and it can be more easily configured for plain text. I also believe that messages sent by the web interface with the default font and no styled signature will also come as plain text. The above help message doesn't have the AOL 6/7 hints because I had been asking those who tried them to give me feedback and that hasn't happened. I posted a note the other day mentioning this and did get someone to try Netscape (thanks!), but if there are AOL 6/7 users, I am happy to help you because I would like to get the help file updated for those that read it. From: "James B. Wilkinson" <jimmy@CS.cofc.EDU> Subject: remote control and PCM-R300/500 Date: Thu, 14 Nov 2002 17:04:21 -0500 I've noticed that, at any given time, there are several PCM-R300's for sale on ebay and perhaps a PCM-R500 or two. Some of them include the remote control, but most of them don't. I've made up my mind to try to get one of these machines, but I have no experience at all with DAT, so I don't know how important the remote is. All I can do is imagine the possibilities: it might be like my VCR; without the remote you're pretty helpless. Or it might be the case that there's nothing you can do with the remote that you can't do with the buttons on the machine itself. Or it might be somewhere in between. Can some of you guys who have experience with these machines enlighten me? Are there things you can do with the remote that you can't do without it, or is it just to keep you from having to get out of your chair?
