I wouldnt take that broken-english response form a ESI tech rep as gospel, I'd test it myself (if I had one.) I had considered getting one, but am a very satisified vx pocket user, and since the u24 doesnt offer anything over 24/48, no incentive for me to switch. I'm currently in the middle of testing the emagic usb device @ 2496, but that also drops samples with my usb controller. so I ordered up a few usb 2.0 pc cards in hopes that one will be compatable. If anyone wants to loan me a u24, I'll test it with the various controllers. -Jamie --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). I'm using cool edit pro software and a soundblaster extigy card.... I'm running a microphone through my tascam DA-P1 to get the microphone through to the sound card... Here's the problem... I can record one track fine.... when I go to record a overdub on another track.... the first track is playing through my soundcard and also records on the second track... I tried changing the playback soundcard to my card thats in my computer, but that didn't work any ideas.... thanks in advance... ernie ------------------------------ From: "Ernie Ensign" Subject: recording microphone on computer Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 22:29:32 -0500 What's the easiest way to get from a standard microphone to record on my multitrack computer software... My comptuer has a built in soundmax soundcard, and I also have an extigy external... But it's not working the way I want it to... so I think I"m just going to get rid of it and go another route... tracks are bleeding over when I try to do an overdub.... I don't want to open my computer and put a soundcard in, if I don't have to... are there any other option to go from xlr into my computers current sound card.... ------------------------------ From: Ivan Subject: ISO: 1 taper ticket, TOO 11/27 Gund Arena Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 19:52:35 -0800 (PST) Hey everyone, Hope someone here can help.... I paid $979.00 for this new in August of 2001.This comes with a custom portabrace style bag. It can run on 6 AA batteries for about 12 hours or a 9 to 18 VDC input (I use a 12 v power supply with it). You can gang the two inputs together and use this as mixer for a single mono source (I've done this for voice work). While not used in the audio world much anymore, the film industry still uses a lot of T-Powered mics and this unit can supply 48v phantom or 12v T-power. (This unit and the X4 are used quite a bit in Hollywood for this very reason). I have used this unit with both AKG 300 series mics and Earthwork SR-77 mics. The full specs can be seen here: ; I would like to see $800.00 for the unit. I have plenty of tapes I've used with both the AKG and EW mics, so just ask, but this is a very transparent unit and doesn't color the sound. I came away with an excellent DSBD (M1 @44.1) of the shows, and am open for trades. I'm always looking for any HQ Over the Rhine show I don't have, especially the 12-11-97 Lancaster, PA SBD. I'm also interested in any show by The Violet Burning / Michael Pritzl. Pedro trades are welcome, especially shows with unreleased songs or early versions of "Second Best" which has totally different lyrics than the album version. Preference will be given to people with any of the above shows, but I'll consider any offer. Send URLs or lists. Prefer DAT, but can do CDR, no shn. If guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, who died in 1970, was still alive, he would be turning 60 on Nov. 27. On that date, prominent fans of the late guitarist will gather to celebrate that occasion at B.B. King's Blues Club in Los Angeles. Hendrix's younger brother Leon Hendrix, a guitarist in his own right, will host and perform at the tribute, which will also feature performances by the likes of Noel Redding, original bassist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience; Buddy Miles, drummer and vocalist with Hendrix's Band of Gypsys; Arthur Lee's new lineup of Love; and many other friends and fans of Hendrix. Tickets are available at the venue for only $20; visit B.B. King's http://bbkingclubs.com/la/la.html for more information.
