Hey All -
Looking for a 'poor-mans' rig to compliment my D8 and I'm looking for
feedback on the Rode NT3's. I have heard several sourced shows from the
AKG's and they seem acceptable to me. But for the life of me I can't find
any shows to listen to from the Rode's. Has anyone ever used these? heard
them? etc. Want to go battery packed vs. phantom power. Simply can't
afford a decent preamp, etc.
Also looking for a stand & stereo bar. Think I've narrowed it down to the
Manfratto Master 13' but am open to suggestions. Any ideas on stereo bars -
haven't even looked into them yet.
Thanks for your help!

Is anyone taping Saint Etienne & Dot Allison for the US/Toronto tour? They
play Chicago Thursday, then finish up with Toronto, DC, and New York City in
the next coupla days. I taped the SF gig (amateur fan rig: PCM-M1 and sonic
studios) but only want to trade for other SE/Dot gigs right now. Yes I will
do b/p in January or so, for those of you patient enough to want something
like this, but in the meantime looking for trades for current tour only etc,
and can email my list etc etc for those who tape SE/Dot but want a different
artist in exchange.
DAT and CDR (no SHN) compatible, many thanks, happy American Thanksgiving.
One CDR per artist, but SE has some encore applause missing for time-saving,
otherwise it's 82 minutes on a DAT. Dot is 30 or so minutes. She plays
acoustically, total two acoustic guitars, quite excellent.
Also I have the Stones Comiskey Park (Chicago) show that is supposed to be
"good" - is it a Schoeps recording, what are the details for these two CDRs?
That's my bwt, 3 total because I did like 30 or so of the Philly and am still
achingly behind.
Soft like Me,
Mike xx

I know of two people who got soundboard feeds here in the U.S. They have
their own sound person I believe. I say get to the club early and ask for
permission. You should have a good shot at getting a feed.

Hi,
I've got around another 150 mainly kao and sony 60m "previously owned =
and recorded upon" dats for sale. I'd like to receive $1 per tape and =
sell them all to one person. I'll pick up shipping and packing costs =
which would be around $23-24 and you can just give me $150 even...ok?
If interested in seeing a list of the live concerts recorded onto these =
dats, please email me and I'll be glad to forward it. =20
If anyone has any Other Ones shows from this tour other than 11/15 & 16, =
please let me know!
Basically, first person to commit gets them. Thanks and have a safe and =
happy holiday season.

Hey All,
I just got an active Oade cable so I don't need either of these cables.
1 Oade Passive Cable - Bought new in May 2002. I've used it for exactly 18
shows. It is in perfect shape.
1 Core Sound Passive Input / Output Coax Cable - Bought new in January 2002.
I used it for transferring Sony M1 > Dio2496 only, exactly 7 times. Also in
perfect shape.
Email me with an offer. taper@rpimusic.com

MMW and other good stuff. (can only trade CD)
Will also consider trades for any HQ Meshell.

When taping SCI & Dar Williams here in Portland, OR last month, I was
approached by a woman after Dar's set who said that the coffee shop Dar
sings about in a song is hers & she'd like a copy of the show. Of course
I've lost her business card & if anyone knows how I can get in contact with
this person I'd greatly appreciate it. Many thanks, Chris

Subject: FS: DPA 4060's w/ battery box
Date: Thu, 21 Nov 2002 23:34:00 -0600
Getting rid of some gear and I've got a pair of very closely matched 4060's
that I am looking to get rid of. They are black and were purchased used
from a theatrical company who chopped off the large majority of the leads
(to about 1 foot). I have since spliced them to some kevlar insulated cable
(about 5 feet worth) and made two homemade battery boxes.
The battery boxes have locking cb (like an xlr) connectors and are very
rugged. The cable then pigtails to a 1/8" mini for use with a dat walkman.
One box has a flat roll-off circuit (no roll-off) and the other has a
roll-off circuit designed to roll-off at 80hz going line in on a Sony dat
walkman (d3, d7,d8,d100, or m1). The 80hz filter is sweet and takes out
just enough bass to eliminate some boominess without even coming close to
sounding thin. The dpas are great with the lows anyways and a lot of people
don't even use a filter.
These are wired very similarly to the heb's but are homebrewed. That being
said, they may not look that hot (concerning the splice, etc), but they've
got it where it counts. The 80hz filter is sweet and you won't get a decent
roll-off filter with the hebs. Great stealth mics at considerably less than
new cost.
Make an offer or feel free to ask questions.
peace
Zach

Last saturday I taped Queens of the Stone Age here in Stuttgart, Germany. I
was about 5 meters in front of the right speakers and the tape came out very
good. The setlist can be found at the tour history of www.thefade.org. The
recording (OKM-IIr>M1, 92 mins) is up for trade.
I now have 7 QOTSA AUD DAT masters. You can find my list at

Hi, this is a message to everyone who records and/or trades live Tool
shows, please take a minute of your time to read it.
I run the Tool Live Recording History, a site that attempts to document
every known audio and video recording of Tool concerts to provide an
important resource. By having a common reference, people will have a
much easier time obtaining accurate source information and determining
what recordings are available. There have been other sites like it, but
this is definitely the most comprehensive one ever. It is still far
from complete however, since I'm just one man, which is why I'm writing
this email.
If you ever taped a Tool concert, know someone who has, or just have
information that isn't on my site, PLEASE contact me at
catalystx@attbi.com. Even if you don't trade your recordings, I would
really appreciate it if you could let me know about them. In particular
I'd like to get more info on videos, which is harder to come by because
many filmers only sell their shows and/or trade them for other 1st gen
copies, then often take them out of circulation.
Also, even if your recordings are already listed, you can most likely
still provide more detailed or accurate information, so please feel free
to email with anything you can add. Furthermore, if your recording is
listed, but you've never talked with me before, then I'd like to hear
from you.
Thanks

Hi,
I recently bought one of the Denecke units, and so I no longer need the
following cables:
Klone 75 Ohm coax (RCA -> RCA): 3 foot length
2 x $7.96 = $15.92
Klone 2 XLR female -> 1/8" stereo mini: 10 foot length
1 x $30.96 = $30.96
Klone 2 RCA male -> 1/8" stereo mini: 10 foot length
1 x $18.96 = $18.96
Core Sound 20 dB attenuator cable
1 x $35.00 = $35.00
TOTAL = $100.84
Will sell the whole lot for $75, shipping included. All but one of these
have never been used. I used the Klone XLR -> mini once.
Please e-mail me off list at gsthursh@ouray.cudenver.edu
