Does anyone in here know any tapers that live in the Cleveland, Akron/Canton
Ohio areas etc. I just don't know any other tapers from around here.

I think the "digital hub" idea has been frustrating for us Mac audio
folks...after MP3, digital pictures, and movie editing, there's been
something missing. But OSX, with CoreAudio and Audio Units (common
plugin format) is certainly an important future trend (well, not so
future...ProTools will be on OSX soon, which hopefully means the
incredible (and affordable) M-Box interface should work with OSX). OSX
also installs audio setup info and folders for application files
automatically...so Real Soon Now... Then there is Apple's recent
purchase of Logic Audio, a major audio software house (and now available
for OSX, but expensive).
Some good 2-channel editors now available for OSX: the very cool and
cheap Sound Studio, Peak 3.1 (more expensive) and the basic Spark editor
(a free download). All worth playing with.
And, if you have the bucks (and Mac stuff does require buckage), the
Metric Halo MIO Firewire interface now has excellent OSX
drivers...teamed with a Ti Powerbook, you have the ultimate portable
recording studio...
So the future is bright for Mac users, but the frustration is real as
well. Patience is difficult in the world of digital greed...
