So, any tips on what are the best shows/recordings? 400 pounds is a bit
much for the set, and the set lists don't vary much from night to night.
Thanks!

Subject: Help needed completing Smothers Bros Music Guests Anthology 1967-69
Date: Thu, 12 Dec 2002 13:14:34 EST
Hi All,
Growing up in the 60s, I enjoyed The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. They=
=20
had many musical guests over the three seasons they were on TV(1967-1969).=20
Many artists were seen nationally for the first time on this show and some=20
artists did one-off unusual things, unreleased elsewhere. The music=20
performances have never been released commercially (and probably never will=20
be), but fortunately during late 1992 and early 1993, E! CHANNEL rebroadcast=
=20
the shows on cable TV. They've never been shown again, but these rebroadcast=
s=20
put all of these performances into circulation in high quality and I was on=20
it, videotaping them all to HiFi VHS at the time. Over the course of this=20
past year, I've gone through all my masters and have been editing all the=20
musical guest audio into chronilogical order. It's been quite the workout an=
d=20
I have188 performances done so far.
I have a problem though, in that I cannot for the life of me find my=20
final videotape that included the last four shows of the third season. So my=
=20
mission today is to ask if anyone here may be able to help complete this=20
project by supplying the music guest audio from these 4 shows. For reference=
,=20
the four shows needed are as follows:
3/30/69 -Joan Baez, John Hartford
4/13/69 -Ike & Tina Turner, Mason Williams
4/20/69 -Clinger Sisters, Anthony Newley (this is the show that outraged=20
censors and got them cancelled)
Non aired final show - Teddy Neely, Nancy Wilson (this was aired on E! as th=
e=20
last one)
As soon as I can locate these last few musical segments, I'll complete this=20
mammoth project (likely 10 CDs) and get them to a few friends for free=20
circulation. I think this will be a fun thing to have together and even=20
though no-one will like everything (including me), I thought its worth havin=
g=20
all of it together and it will bring back memories for us baby boomers. Unti=
l=20
then, happy holidays everyone and get in touch if you can help. Alan
PS.=20
Here's the ridiculously long tracklist of whats done so far. Many can=20
probably use this as a reference list and I hope its bandwith use is=20
worthwhile.

Sorry for the *very* late notice.
I can get a pair of GA floor tickets for $100 to tonight's Claus Fest show at
Nassau Coliseum. They were hard to get on Ticketmaster and were $60 each w/
charges anyway. I can bring my M1 and AETA PSP-3 but I need someone to bring
mics. I can wear them in my hat. The headliner is Audioslave (their first
concert), and lots of other cool acts like Coldplay, Zwan, Jimmy Fallon &
Band, Ozzy, etc.
Please e-mail me to PromTheme@aol.com I can pick you up and drive us to the
venue. Doors open at 5:30 PM I think but we can arrive later.
Thanks,
Tom Roach

Hi All,
So, I'm thinking about taking NYE off from taping so I can just have a grand
ole time seeing my favorite band. Nothing is set in stone, but I want to at
least put out the feelers to see what the interest is. I would be looking
to trade 2 NYE Taper Tix (sec 10) to someone with 2 tickets _together_ so I
can sit with my date (preferably floor so I can still sneak a deck in and
get a patch but this is not necessarily a requirement). You would also need
a full rig comparable to mine (AKG C480s)... patchers need not apply.
I already have someone who is willing to trade 1 section 5 ticket, for 1
taper ticket and I would then hope that there was room in section 5 for both
me and my date. Likewise, if you have a single section 5 ticket and only
desire 1 TT, let me know and maybe I can work something out with both of
you....
So, if this sounds like any of you, shoot me an email with your ticket
locations and your rig info and maybe we can set something up. Peace!
