I had a problem that exhibited the same symptoms that Scott described. I set mine up in front of my stereo and started swapping stuff left and right to ferret out the problem. I figured that it could have been connector on my pre-amp, a connector on my DAT deck, a cable (mic to power supply, or pre-amp to deck), a power supply, a mic body, or a mic capsule. Eventually I narrowed it down to a mic body and sent them back to the factory for repair. One of the solder points was loose. They fixed it and I haven't had a problem since.
