From: Mexminute@aol.com Subject: I.S.O. Zappa - Sat Nite Live date! Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 11:53:45 -0500 As the subject says, I am looking for the date of the Zappa performance on Saturday Night Live from the mid 70's. On it he & his amazing Mothers Of Invention do 3 songs...2 of which were I'M THE SLIME and PEACHES EN REGALIA. The other song, which I cannot remember its name, featured a very funny cameo by John Belushi as his Samurai character. Your help is greatly appreciated! Happy Holidays! Mitchell
From: Keith Bode <t.tunakebo@verizon.net> Subject: Re:Dat>CD-playback deck Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 09:04:53 -0800 "Anyone know any compelling reason why I might want to use a full size deck to play a DAT into my PC for editing and conversion to CD (rather than a portable)? The only thing I can think of is that there's probably better error correction in the full size. And full size heads - but does that matter? The problem is, my stereo system and computer are at opposite ends of the house. TIA" I have my DAT decks and analog cassette deck located near my computer. I also have a older Sony 69ES reciever under and JBL N26 speakers on either side of my computer monitor. In the same room, I have my stereo system. I have an optical and several stereo cables carying signal from one DAT deck to the stereo, and stereo cables carrying a signal from the tape out of both recievers, to the tape in of the other. I also have a TOSLINK optical cable carrying a digital signal to my computer from my DVD player. I guess I have the TOSLINK cable and 4 or 5 stereo cables carying the signal around the room. I guess if you want to run cables around the house you could, but it might not be as simple as it is for me, as I live alone, and everything is in one room. There is no one else this impacts, so it is I just do what I want. Keith

From: tapeboy@aol.com Subject: re: who encore series Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 14:39:31 -0500 I've listened to the whole set of what's been released so far and my favorite shows are: Detroit, Jones Beach, Las Vegas, Irvine, Mansfield (Boston) and Toronto. Of those Jones Beach and Toronto are the best. Of the next set of shows coming out, the Shoreline and George shows are good one's based on audience tapes (and being there...) The last leg of the tour, which ends with the Toronto show, features Pete's increasing use of the echo effect on his guitar, by Toronto he's using it on every solo. hope this helps. jared

From: "Colin Robinson" <ccrobinson@hotmail.com> Subject: ISO: Peter Gabriel 12-18-2002 (Lost my master, Help!!) Date: Fri, 20 Dec 2002 00:54:29 +0000 So i was blessed with 6th row seats with a stack hanging above my head...I touched each of the band members as they went by, and even said hi to tony...After the show I listened back and it was a masterpiece of a recording...(even sneaking 2hours 6 mins on the tape, just enough to fit the show, other than the encore)... Today i woke up to transfer the recording, and all I can find is my encore tape (30 or so mins) of Peter Gabriels set. The main set DAT is missing...Just gone....I had a mishap in a parking lot, and Im thinking it fell out there...so I am now in need of this amazing show from another kind taper. My encore is amazing, and maybe together we can make a great tradeable show (or maybe yours already is amazing!). Either way, I will be indebted to you kind people.
