A full-size deck might not necessarily have better error correction.
My D3 sometimes reads a tape my full-size deck won't.
The main reason would be to avoid wear on the smaller portable heads,
which wear faster than full-size heads.

Did anyone record Zwan on MuchMusic last night or this
morning? I thought it would also be showing on
MuchMusicUSA, but I was entirely wrong about that. It
was only a half-hour set, and I'm looking for trades
on any format (dat, cd-r, vhs, dvd-r, wax cylinder).
I'm also in search of any Four Tet recordings. I was
in touch with a lister about some broadband trading,
but I'm relegated to dial-up at home and firewall
prevention at work. I will even send SASE overseas
for any recordings of Kieran Hebden's side project.
BWT: One of my recordings from Terrastock 5 to the
first person who replies after I receive the digest:
http://www.noize.org/trade.txt
(Masters are at the bottom of the page.)
Hope to hear from someone soon,
*phiL*

thx for that, hopefully further useful info for the folks who have been
asking which shows to get :)
i just listened to Jones Beach yesterday, & it's become one of my favorites
also; pete is playing very well, there is alot of crowd interaction
(especially with one guy up front who keeps yelling at him to "get on with
it"), it featues pete doing an ELECTRIC unaccompanied version of I'M ONE
(very cool & might be the only show with him playing this on electric?), and
during MY GENERATION it has a short jam/song tribute to john entwistle where
he sings about "red wine" that he only did at a few shows towards the end of
the tour - i also heard this on the LAS VEGAS release, and think i saw it in
TORONTO (haven't received that one yet to listen to it)

The Pearl Jam b&p from me is closed.
IF you sent me an e-mail AND I've already sent you a mail to address
AND you haven't sent your package yet....DON'T send it now if you haven't
already.
I am MOVING. I will still do the b&p for those who I've sent the OK to. You
will just have to wait until I have a new send to addy for you.

Frank Zappa was actually on the show twice, but I believe the show
you're describing was 10/21/78.

I'm having second thoughts about my decision on which show you
were describing. On the date I gave, Zappa opened (I believe) with
Dancing Fool, and he was also the host, and did a skit called
"Night on Freak Mountain". The *other* show, with Candice
Bergen as host, included "Slime" (the only song that Comedy
Central shows), and occurred 12/11/76.

Seeking quick trade for a clean sbd. on DAT of this show. My copy
sounded great, but something went wrong about 1/2 way through-what a
tease. Much to trade, or B+P. Thanks in advance+Happy Holidays, and
