Unfortunately the power cable for my DA-P1 has gone missing and I need
another ASAP or I can't get power to my deck at all.
I'm one of many that has done an XLR hack inbetween the power supply and
that little unique black plastic connector that plugs into the P1. I have
no idea where to get one of these ends with some cable attached to it to
make another and I would appreciate any suggestions or if you have a dead
power supply or whatever. If anyone can help please contact my at
timmytucker@primus.ca so we can work something out quick as I'm always
recording shows up here in Toronto.
Thanks
Karl

My experience as well. My 10 year old D3 is frequently the best deck to
try and get a clean play on a tape with errors. My D100 is also usually
better than my Fostex D5, Panasonic SV-3800, or Sony DTC-75ES.

It isn't the error correction per se (which is likely to be better on
the newer deck and the home deck), but rather the half-size head
portables use a different track-following technique, which works
better for some slightly off-spec tapes.

I'm looking for some Robert Plant's Strange Sensations recordings from his
recent UK & European tour. I have quite a few already but I'd like fill the
gaps... Here are the ones that I'm still looking for:
Oct 08 Exeter University
Oct 14 University of East Anglia, Norwich
Oct 21 Newcastle City Hall
Oct 23 Glasgow Barrowland
Nov 05 Vega, Copenhagen, Denmark
I have quite a bit to offer in exchange including Soundboard recordings from
his US tour (Camden & Grand Rapids). ->

Also looking for any 2001 John Paul Jones tour that I might missing.
Thanks for your help.

even tho this is DAT-heads and not cd recording..... :)
thats a litle high for CD's, so at least make sure they are TY (Taiyo
Yuden) memorex blanks. you can tell that by the type of spindle they are
on. the TYs have a little disc on the top of the spindle that screws on.
aboiut half oif the memorex blanks sold are TY's.
for my DAT-<cdr transfers i use Fujis cause they are all TY and only 4.99
for 100pk after rebate at bestbuy
