The sad news of Joe Strummer passing away this weekend has lead me to
offer the only Clash DAT I have. I'll take 4 B&P's for this tape.
The Clash
1984-02-10 The Barrowlands - Glasglow, Scotland
Aud : Source unknown, but great recording.
fits on a single 60 meter tape.
I'll take a couple of trades for other Clash or strummer material too.

But they're slower than snail snot to get them to you.
Of the last 6 I've mailed in I've only received two,
but shame on me for not keeping good records on the
ones I never received. Anyway, I'll take a slightly
higher price mail-order or whatever than have to wait
3+ months for a few $$ in return.

hello everyone i read the messages regarding the memorex cd-r's. some are
made by taiyo yuden. but yes some are made by ri-tek. the black memorex
cd-rs are made by ri-tek. taiyo yuden does not produce colored media. also
the discs that office max has after the rebate are $.09 each. are cmc
magnetics. cmc is the actual manufactor.
as most know your best bet is taiyo yuden cdr media. thank you les.

I have a pair of MK4 >KC5 >CMC6's with stereo ORTF bar & shockmount that I
purchased overseas last spring for $2,600. The caps were factory matched & come
with fancy documentation in another language ;) I'd like to get $2,000 for the
whole deal, I will not separate. I'd also be willing to trade for a MMe (rev C)
or V3 plus some cash.

SHNs of the following shows from the tour:
11-17, 11-21, 11-24, 12-02
and 11-15 is on the way
Also have tons of other stuff to trade (including lots of Genesis)
Thanks,

You can now buy MP3s and SHNs of Phish SBD's directly from the band at
www.livephish.com. They have also updated their taping policy to allow for
online trading of all audience recordings (even if you can buy an official
release of the show). Which band is going to be next to distribute
CD-quality releases over the net? I'm guessing SCI.

I have tried to link the digital output of my Aiwa HD-S100 to the SPDIF
Input of a Behringer Ultramatch 2000. Unfortunately the Behringer can't
detect the Signal, so that the "Error" LED stays on.
A quick glance with my oszilloskop shows a signal at the output of the
Aiwa, it seems to work. Are there any known problems with the output
signal (too week ?) with the Aiwa ??

The above issue has been resolved. But I would like
to thank all of you who replied. For some reason when
using SoundForge 6.0 there is not a setting to save
the captured wav file as a pcm wav and would not
convert to pcm using other software. So what I did
was use Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to capture the sound from
the line in source on my SoundBlaster Extigy. Cool
Edit offers the option of saving the file as a pcm
wav, and this worked just fine.

I don't know about any horror stories, but if you get the ones with the Black
screw on plastic thing (resembling the white screw on things like on Fuji)
and if they say mfg in Japan, then they are TY's...otherwise they are Ritek
or the bad brand.

I just picked one of these 7-pin cables up at my local Guitar Center
(Kirkland, WA). It only has a single RCA (in) but has the active switch and
retails for $64.95. It was in a clearance bin so when I took it to the
counter for a price check, the guy looks it up and says to me "how about a
buck?" I bought it on the spot and get this, I had no cash on me so I had to
use a credit card for $1.09! Anyway, I already have an Oade 7-pin (best damn
7-pin ever made) so I don't really know what I'll do with this thing but for
one single US dollar, it might be worth it to check you local GC clearance
bins...

Thanks for the personal and list replies. Price isn't an issue. Can
anyone relate specifics about how and (if you know) why these discs
don't perform like others? I'm only interested in archival stability and
compatibility with player and drive issues. I have the light dye discs
that don't have a shattered glass icon on the brand surface. I've heard
about the Japan/Taiwan matter, but I still don't get why the
difference. Rich

Just bought a Sony D100 deck - it worked great at home - tried to use it at
the show and all hell broke loose - went into record mode but didn't have a
signal - Sonic Studios DSM6's with a Sound Pro's preamp combo bass cutoff -
tried to pause - stop -open but wouldn't work - took the batteries out for a
long time (15 minutes) and replaced - did not seem to be responding to most
commands - it would change modes - tried to open but still won't let me
open - maybe it ate a tape? Lost my manual in the shuffle (had some
experiened people with D100's try to get it open) any suggestions (other
than send it in to Sony and pay them the 300.00 for repair) - also wonder if
anybody has a manual, would be glad to pay for copy charges - appreciate any
input and a BIG thank you to Mike G. who loaned me a spare D8 -

Probably these "pmb' mics are Peerless-MB mics. Peerless is a Danish
speaker drive unit manufacturer and MB-Elektronic GMBH is the W German mic
manufacturer now known as MBHO. Back in the '80's, Peerless had a
distribution/rebadging arrangement for MB stuff such as their ribbon mics,
condensor omni's and Jecklin Disk. If no one else steps in, I can maybe
unearth more from my archives - shoeboxes <g>

Subject: I.S.O. - George Harrison Tribute set list!
Date: Mon, 23 Dec 2002 19:52:09 -0500
A good friend of mine just returned from London. He made a great digital audience tape of the George Harrison Tribute Concert from The Royal Albert Hall in London on November 29th, 2002. This wonderful recording features, Eric Clapton, Joe Brown, Jools Holland, Jeff Lynn, Paul McCartney, Billy Preston, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Ringo Starr, Sam Brown, Gary Booker, Jim Capaldi, Dhanni Harrison, Jim Keltner, Albert Lee, Tom Scott, Klaus Voorman, members of Monty Python (Eric Idle / Terry Gilliam / Terry Jones), & many others.
Is there anyone out there who can direct me to a web site that has the exact set list showing which of these artists play on which songs? I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer (I'll even burn you a copy).
Thanks very much & I wish you all a joyous & safe holiday season!
Cheers,
Mitchell

Wanted to help spread a little holiday jam...PEARL Jam that is. Have all four
of their recent Seattle shows on 8 CD-R's (12/5, 12/6, 12/8, 12/9, see
www.fivehorizons.com for details). These are stealth recordings "unknown
Schoeps -> unknown preamp -> unknown DAT" if you need more details sorry can't
help you. They all sound great; first show has a few minutes mono where someone
bumped the taper pretty hard and one channel went out...fortunately he recovered
before too long.
Can do 2 B&P if you can get your packages out quickly and offer them back up in
turn to others. BTW this is a close approximation of my idea of B&P
http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/ if you can't do that then please move on.
Happy holidays

If I read the question correctly, what is needed is the cord that runs from
the power supply box to the deck.
In the USA, you can order a replacement cord and install it yourself from
Tascam (www.tascam.com) or call (323) 727 - 7627. I just ordered a cable
today - my original was damaged during a recording session last weekend.
The cable costs $ 43.94 from Tascam. Ouch! Does anyone know of a different
source for the cable (and at a lower price?)

I sometimes copy my digital recordings in 24 Bit/88.1 or 96 KHz to
normal CDs
if the playing time does not exceed 41 minutes for one CD. I get CDs
with AIF computerfiles readable in a computer with a music software or

Hello out there,
I read the CD-R posts and want to give my suggest on it:
Why not to use real studio-masterdiscs like the EMTEC Ceramic Master for
about $1.60 each ? It has a hard ceramic surface and is white on the
labelside.
Itīs the best CD-R I know.
