Is it official that Indigo Girls allow open taping ? Or should I still
sneak into the venue with my stealth gear.

I can't beleive the justification being used to justify ticket scalping =
- market value - THATS BS!!!!!
Bottom line if you have purchased tickets for a show with the intent to =
sell the tickets to make a profit YOU ARE SCALPING and yes many states =
have laws against such practices. Most states will allow for sale at a =
rate just above face value but draw the line at anything more than that. =
Is Ebay doing anything illegal by allowing this - unfortunately no =
because a) most states do not choose to inforce these laws or b) they =
are unable to control these sales if made out-of-state.
The arguements that it is supply and demand and that the venues and =
ticketing agencies are taking a share so why cant you don't hold water. =
The venues get a cut to help defray the costs associated with putting =
the show on, the ticketing agency gets a cut to cover thier costs (it =
may be a bigger cut than I agree with), but you as a purchaser do not =
have any expenses - so WTF should you take a cut? Bands like Phish, =
TOO, DMB, etc... have made concious efforts to keep ticket pricing down =
in order to get tickets into the hands of fans - not so that people (non =
fans) can buy them as "an investment" with the intent to re-sell to fans =
at an increased price.
Scalping is flat out wrong and those supporting it should not be =
surprised to be ridiculed on this forum.

I've had a similar problem one time where apparently the beginning of the
tape was blank or corrupted. If I remember, I just ran DAT2WAV several
times in a row without the -rewind option until it finally picked up the
start of the recording. Not sure if it will help in this case, but you
might give it a try. By running the program over and over, you are
effectively forcing it to move down the tape until it finds a usable signal.

Is it me or has Bobby stopped saying Cocaine while singing Truckin'? When
is the last time Bobby said "Cocaine" while singing Truckin'? (Livin' on
reds, vitamin c & cocaine)-Check your tapes with a recent Truckin' on it.
Just curious.

I'd like to relay this to the list:
In the age of f.u. isms and whatnot...it's nice to find a business that goes
"above and beyond" on customer service.
I ordered a pack of 10 dats and a spindle of 50 cdrs from
www.daleproaudio.com. As I am moving soon...I decided to go ups orange (3
day select) so that the stuff would reach my place before the move. When I
went to the daleproaudio webpage to find my tracking # for ups...I found
that my order had been sent ground instead of orange on accident. The
package would be reaching the old address a day after I would be gone.
I called up the guys at d.p.a. and told them the situation. Not only did
they apologize...they credited me for the cost of shipping and re-sent a
totally new shipment to me next day (via fed-ex). They didn't have to do it
that way so I wanted to relay the good service to the list.
And before you get suspicious...I don't work there. I don't care if you buy
there (but you should). I get no kickbacks.
Thanks to the people at www.daleproaudio.com

Subject: D5 vs. D8 pre-amp
Date: Mon, 30 Dec 2002 21:45:29 -0800
I heard of someone running some mics into their old D5 cassette deck and
then from there to their D8, using the D5 as a pre-amp only (record
button on D5 depressed to pass signal through but no cassette actually
recorded). I believe the mics were Nak 300s or similar mics that don't
require phantom power and they supposedly just preferred the sound of
the D5 pre over the D8 pre. Just curious about this and if anyone has
any insight into the quality/difference of the pre-amps in each of these
decks and why this might be preferable.

yes, daleppro used to be masterpieceav.com which was Jamies company. (a
former taper from the early 90's) he knows how it is, and is kind people.
as long as we are giving customer service props, i wanna give major props
to Jerry Bruck of Posthorn recordings! imo he is very personal with the
customer, a very knowledagbe and expirienced site recorder, and will give
you as much of his time as required to make sure you get what you want and
need. since buying a schoeps rig is something most people take pretty
serious. but if u need some info or some tips, he's there. if you need
something overnighted, and even sent out as late as 7pm.. he's there. if u
are in the market for anything schoeps, he's the guy to call. :)

sony d7 with original packaging (not even needed as a back up deck anymore
on my end) with an oade passive cable. i am not gonna split up the two.
good starter deck or backup. excellent deal for a newbie patcher. its old,
but its an ox. i love this deck, just dont need it anymore, and wanna
defray the costs of some of my newer gear. this particular oade pasv is a
little over 1 year old. i wanna unload em both for $400. agree to this
price, i will pay shipping.
sound devices mp2 with original manual, but not original packaging. i am
the second owner, and this piece is about 14 months old. i love this
preamp, but again, not needed in the present config. perfect working
condition, cosmetically about 99.6% (not a scientifically proven percentage)
perfect condition. paid 600 when it was 6 months old, would like to let it
go for a fair price. lets haggle. i am not looking for what i paid, but
not gonna let it go for free.
peace,
bill

Smiler says: The original info file and .shns had 2 errors:
(1). When Doves Cry and Beautifully Broken listed twice in info.
(2). d2t10 and d2t11 misnamed as d2t11 and d2t12 respectively
(with no d2t10).
I have renamed the 2 tracks from d2, adjusted the md5s accordingly, and
corrected the track listing above (adding CD track number info), as well
as the md5 below.
However there is still some confusion about the performers for When
Doves Cry which was originally listed as:
When Doves Cry 3 5>
Beautifully Broken 3 4 7>
When Doves Cry 3 4 6 7>
Beautifully Broken 3 4 7>
Take your pick ....
