I need help! In my area, Best Buys used to carry the "TDK CD MARK", which is a specially designed pen to write on cdr's. Unfortunately, for the last few months, either they have been out of stock, or they just don't carry them anymore. They are the only cdr pen that I like.....the rest do not perform as well.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could check their local Best Buys to see if they can pick me up 6 or 8 of them. I can either send you cash, check, or burn you some shows to cover the cost.
Thanks!

Hello all...
I have a stack of extra raw DAT > WAV > SHN discs that I would like to

affecting in playback read/write, etc.... all good :)
Looking to send them all to one person in exchange for 12 Fuji or
Kodak blanks or 4 blank sealed 60/90 meter DAT tapes (running low on DAT

Huh? S/PDIF is very simple to read, without doing much synching:
there's a transition precisely every 1 or 2 timesteps (except to mark
"start of block"). So long as you can reliably tell the difference
between 1 and 2, you're golden.

Consider this: ethernet is really good at getting the correct bits
across, even though the crystals run at slightly different speeds.

Hey Now,
Just wondering if one can use the data grade DDS2 DAT tapes in normal DAT
recorders? I just acquired some TDK DC4-120 DDS2 tapes and i would like to
know if I can use them in my D8. Sorry for the lame question, but it would
be nice to know before I open the box of tapes. Any feedback would be of
help.
Peace,

I have a taper's ticket (on the way) for the Meadowlands, Monday Feb. 24.
It's going to be difficult for me to use, because of a business thing that's
come up. I'd like to trade it, ticket-for-ticket, for a Spectrum (Tuesday
Feb. 25) taper's ticket.
The Meadowlands ticket is not for sale or trade on other terms.
Thanks.

Bob,
I had to switch the spdif input (normal/reverse) many times since I got the
card over xmas. Biggest problem now, is the 48k dats going directly into the
pc. Static on both normal and inverse settings. No matter though, the signal
is fine when I have a D3 or D8 hooked up. anyhoo...
So if it is just a matter of voltage, or tascam and zoltrix not being
happy with a coax connection. Big new question, does it work with an optical
connection? In other words does the signal come clean with the setup,
tascam>optic>pc? I don't have the option to run the line through my
reciever.. need a really long cable for that.

how good is the mic pre on the AD1000 ? i'm eagerly soliciting
opinions/experiences. currently running oktava mc012s straight into an
apogee AD1000, and have one question: is it worth it to upgrade to hi-end
mics (schoeps, dpas)if i plan on using just the ad1000 w/ no preamp in front
of it ? i've heard mixed reviews on the ad1000 pre; what mics IYHO don't
blesh with this unit ? of course i want schoeps and one of these V2s but in
the meantime i want something a bit nicer to the low-end. with current
budgetary contstraints lasting at least another 5-6 weeks, i was thinking
either sr71s or akgs (451s or 391s).

Lunatec V2 for sale. Bought new in June '02. Can include a nice
finished oak box I made for it so that you can run it upright in a
bag/case without kinking the cables (I could take some pictures if
you're really curious). Original box, manual, and mini XLR -> 4-pin
XLR power cable included also. Make me an offer.

I'm looking to get together a couple dollars to buy some new gear. I was just
laid off this past Dec. so I have to sell a couple things to scrape some cash
together first. I have a couple other sets of mics and I haven't been
stealthing much lately so these are the first to go. I'll settle for $450 or
best offer. I'll cover shipping within the US.
PA-6LC3 Bass 30/65/100Hz LoCut Switch $200 new
DSM-6S/EL Extra Low / Near to PA MEGA Loud Rock Music 133db handling $600
new/alligator case
I had a set of DSM6's/L mics that came with the alligator case and bass
filter, those went MIA so I bought the set of DSM6s/EL to replace them. I
only used the EL mics twice since buying them, they are like new. The mics
also come with paperwork from Leonard with their specs. The label on the bass
filter is starting to peel up in 2 of the corners but it is only cosmetic,
you can still read the settings with no problem. The bass filter has 3
selectable settings 30/65/100db, I've usually used them with the 65db filter
setting and had very consistent results. They also come in a protective case
supplied with the microphones from Sonic Studios. If you want any sample
sound clips just shoot me an e-mail.
Thanks, Mike
