One problem with doing that, that I have felt has been done with some of the things I have wrote, is the respondant often qutes half a sentence, or more, of the original post, and in doing so changes the original point, to something they can attack. > ... just leave the > context for response and the response. -- If you love animals, check out www.wotwild.com. Please don't flame me, this is useful information for anyone who eats "on-the-run" to or from a concert. Burger King is now selling a $1 cup of chili that's really excellent. Aside from the rich broth, red, ripe tomatos, onions, and two kinds of beans, this chili is loaded with BK's famous flame-broiled hamburger meat. It's more than comparable to a $3-$5 cup of chili elsewhere. The $1 menu also includes a baked potato that's quite nice, sour cream included (save it for the chili?), and, some nice deserts such as the "Hershey's Chocolate Pie". I usually choose a $1 burger (the double cheeseburger is nice if you want something with more glop on it than the Wopper), chili & baked potato, and for $3.23 with tax, get enough food for 1 1/2 meals or maybe two. Bon Apitete' --Gary ------------------------------ From: "john e. bogus" Subject: oh shit.... Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 08:14:11 -0500 This post is for anyone who is currently involved with a trade with me right now.....I only have a couple actual trades pending, but have had several more requested since December. I'm currently being forced out of my house right now and must move immediately. I live in a "rough" inner-city neighborhood (15 blocks west of downtown Baltimore) and have had 3 break-ins in the last 3 months. In November the garage door to my carriage house was bashed in, and I suffered the loss of my electric furnace and additional property damage. In December the burglar bars were pried out of a window and a pressure washer and some tools were taken from my upstairs apartment. Last week, while I was home, someone tried to break into the downstairs apartment by forcing up a window sash and I had to scare them off before they could reach through the bars and grab some of my amateur radio equipment. The cops arrived late because they went to the wrong house, otherwise they would have caught the bastard....then, in spite of the physical evidence (screens pulled out of the windows and footprints in the snow) at the scene, they told me I was making the whole thing up as an insurance scam and arrested ME for making a "false report"! (Insurance scam my ass....I found out after the first incident that my x-wife never paid the insurance) So I get out of jail the next day and find a notice from the city that they're gonna (illegally of course, in violation of both state and federal environmental laws) tear the (attached rowhouse) house next door to me down.....since my house is the end of the row and the side wall is weak and needs some work, my house is gonna come right down along with it. So not only am I faced with a now complete lack of security for my self and my property, I expect that anytime in the next few weeks my house itself will be nothing more than a pile of rubble. (And I get nothing if that happens, as the house is still in my x-wife's name for several more months and the city will settle out with her, not me!) Not wanting exactly to plan on giving my electronic equipment and music collection to the neighborhood junkies, nor see everything I own go up in a cloud of lead paint and asbestos plaster dust, I have no choice but to get the fuck out immediately. I can't afford to try to fight both of these battles in the legal arena, as the lawyers cleaned me out financially over my divorce earlier this year. Luckily my girlfriend hasn't sold her house yet and I at least have a place to go, but that still won't meet both of our needs and we'll have to move immediately again as soon as we can find another house.....we'll probably land somewhere in south central or southeast PA (hopefully we can get the services we expect from our tax dollars there). Anyways, if you have a trade pending with me or have discussed a trade with me in the last few months, I'm not running off on you. My PO box is paid up for at least a few more months. My email won't change, but my responses will become a lot slower, as I'll have the computers at my girlfriend's place, but be spending my time here, emptying out a 2600+ sf house full of music, electronics, tools, and construction equipment. Hopefully this will all be over in a matter of weeks, but I fear this will stretch out for several months.....please be patient with me, ok? Since this posting is a little on the long side, I guess I should offer up another BWT again, but that's gonna have to wait due to my circumstances.... Live in Montreux 1976-1994" on Ruf Records (RUF 1008) - nice 80 minute long live disc. i've had this gem for years and it has only wet my appetite for more if anybody needs montreux documentation (warning the setlists are all greatly guessed, but the dates and venues are all right on the spot!) check out the wonderful site at: http://www.montreuxsounds.com search by artist failed for me recently but search by date works fine later, fish ------------------------------ From: "Mike BB" Subject: microhpone info guide at M-audio.com (free download) Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 20:50:24 -0500 I found this mic info guide, called "Choosing & Using Microphones", last night while poking around online. It does mention M-audio products every once in awhile but it's still a good read. Highly recommended for a new taper. How tight is the search? thanks yall. -glen bwt: 1st person to respond gets a CDR set of anything currently on my hard drive...mostly rock stuff. ------------------------------ From: KindTaper@aol.com Subject: ISO: Radiohead, Pink Floyd, many things... Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 22:44:24 -0500 I am looking for a variety of things, but I didn't want to tie up the list with multiple posts, so please let me know if you have any of this stuff: 1) Meddle-era Pink Floyd live. Does it exist? Is there a show where they play the whole album live or most of it? Would love to hear suggestions or if you have a show like that I'd love to trade for it. 2) Does a video exist of Thom Yorke at the Bridge Benefit this year? I just got the audio of it. I so hope someone filmed it. 3) Does anyone have a clean, low-gen copy of the Pearl Jam unplugged show from 1992? How about the Nirvana or +Live+? Would love to find those. I have some neat vids to trade. 4) Do any European (or American) traders have any Kingsbury Manx shows? I would prefer FM's or SBD's, but if you have any that are good audience tapes, that's fine too. Let me know. and just for fun.. 5) Did anyone on the list tape SCI over New Years? Did you record the Gomez set with a good rig? Would love to hear from you even if you didn't record Gomez, as a friend of mind went all the way from Florida to those shows and I'd love to get them for him. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks to anyone who responds. Wes Kindtaper@aol.com ------------------------------ From: "John Cocci" Subject: FS: DA-P1 w/accessories Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 22:14:52 -0800 Hey folks, I wanted to go this route before going to e-bay. It's time to part with my Tascam DA-P1. I have had this deck for about 5 years and it worked flawlessly and is in great shape besides a few cosmetic blemishes. I recently had it serviced at Pro-Digital for a cleaning and a tune-up so it has a clean bill of health. It was a tough decision to part with it as I love this deck, but I no longer have a need for it. Included with the deck are the stock battery, charger, original box and manual. I am also including a porta brace with accessory pocket and shoulder strap and 2 eco-charge 6v SLA batteries; I do not have a charger for these though. Looking to get $900 for the package. Thanks.
