I saw a previous post about this show. On mine I recorded the audio from
my Dish Network receiver with RCA's ran directly to my Pioneer receiver
and out to my Pioneer home audio burner. Sound is great. Also have a
Hi-Fi VHS (2) video if anyone is interested.

Hey guys. I'm unloading my MP-2, so if anyone is interested please drop me
a line. Unit was purchased brand new in Jan. 2002 from Cascade Media. The
unit is in flawless working and cosmetic condition; not a scratch or nick
anywhere. Original box, packaging, and manual included. $500 or best
offer.
Thanks for the space,
Carrington

I am using a far from ideal signal chain to transfer a couple old scratchy LPs to CDR.
The dbx1231's setting should be set to my best approximation of the RIAA curve for
phono preamps--and what is that? Thanks in advance for pointing me to a URL, thanks.

Hello friends,
I have no more use for this small collection of dats here that i've already
converted and backed up as shn's. I'd like to trade them for blanks and
postage. I prefer sony media but will accept other types like maxell. You
can have terrapin, masterpiece, or any tape vendor ship me the tapes and
i'll ship you the tapes filled with music.
I'd rather give it all to one person, but will split them up if necessary. A
great opportunity for a dat newbie.
64 tapes total.
Email me at Istone626@earthlink.net

Ian Stone

Subject: Portable DVD player for sale/Stone Roses offer
Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 05:02:42 EST
Two parts to this:
1) I have a 3 month old, barely used portable DVD player that I would like to
sell. I can send you a weblink that details all of the features if you are
interested, but here's a few: It's an Apex, with a 5.6" screen and it will do
16:9, 4:3, Widescreen and a bunch of other stuff. It has S-Video out and can
play NTSC or PAL discs. I can tell you a trick to make it play any region
DVD, and it might also break the macrovision (haven't tried it yet). It will
also play CD's and MP3 CD's. It plays DVD-r's, sometimes perfectly, but
sometimes with sproradic hesitation, which is why I am selling it. It plays
regularly bought movies perfectly. If you are not into DVD-r's yet, and don't
plan on being for a while or ever, this is a great player for you at a great
price considering it's like new and comes with all of the original packaging,
etc. You can watch movies at the gym while you're on the treadmill, take it
on an airplane or in the care. It's a great, versatile unit. I'd like $200
for it, and if you pay with paypal, I'll cover UPS shipping to your door and
throw in a couple of shows.
I paid almost $300 for it at the beginning of November 2002.
2) In honor of said unit above, I would like to offer the first 5 people that
respond a beautiful DVD copy of a Stone Roses show from England in 1989. It
is right from a Japanese laserdisc to DVD, and the quality is stunning, both
audibly and visually. I am pressed for time and can only take 5 people, so if
you don't hear from me, please don't feel left out.
If you are interested in the Stone Roses DVD only, please type that in the
subject line of your response. If you are interested or have a question about
the Portable DVD player, please type that in your subject as well. Good luck
and thanks to all.

If you decided to go from VHS tape to DAT after the show, you're still not
getting as clean and clear of a sound as you would have if you had just
recorded it live as it happened on DAT. Even if you're set up would not
have allowed you to go digital, going analog through the VCRs LINE OUT would
have been better than taking the sound off a VHS tape.
VHS tapes have a lot of annomolies and defects as far as sound. You'll
notice a pop or click sound whenever a blip or line appears on the TV screen
during playback. Defects and pops from spots on the tape can make a big
difference in sound quality. Especially when you listen with headphones.
Those with SCMS free DAT Decks should have been able to get an exact Digital
copy of the show. This is why I prefer SCMS free decks.
Back to the original email below, I don't think anybody said recording to
DAT from VHS was crap, but if you've got the option to avoid it, like
recording the show on DAT as it happens, you should take it. Because the
main purpose of the video heads is Video and DAT heads is digital audio.
Theres a big difference and if you like to use headphones you will notice.
Because of all the pops and clicks that VHS tapes have during playback, I
won't buy a Concert Video unless they offer it on DVD. Which is why I was
happy to see many of the videos I had on VHS before DVD came along, were
released on DVD later. From the DVDs I then made CDRs for live music on the
go, in the car and stuff.
So I'm just sayin' that no VHS isn't crap if that's all you got, but if
you've got the option to use you're DAT instead of, that is the way to go
and avoid the VHS pop and clicks all together.

i have a Sony D-100. let's say i patch out of a D-7, M-1,
or another D-100 with a 7-pin -> SPDIF coax out cable,
does the deck providing the patch suffer any significant
power drain?
i've requested patches many times before and have
occasionally been refused on the grounds that the
patch will drain the other guy's deck. i was under the
impression that any power drain is minimal. thanks

11 tapes total, mostly sonys, some 60s, some 90s.....i'd like to get rid of
these all together, so preference goes to someone who wants them all, and I
would PREFER to get maxell green label. These tapes should be error free
but I will admit it has been a few years since any have been played.
