I am hoping someone can help me out ...
I just purchased a Sony D8 Portable Dat and I love it! I own a bunch of
(various brands) clip on / lapel / lavalier mics and I am in need of a
battery box with a Bass Roll-Off. Where can I get a "Cheap" one ( I know...
you get what you pay for! ). I
have seen the Core Sound ( $59 ) and the Giant Squid ($60) for sale. Does
anyone know of where I can find a cheaper one?
Also, do some are fixed ( preset levels ) and some have a multi-position
switch ( for various degrees of bass rolloff ). I imagine that the fixed
versions are cheaper, any suggestions?
Thanks,
Andrew
Retired: since I just purchased this Sony, I quess it's time I retire my
old stand-by - Casio D2. If I have to say so myself,
that has been a workhorse of a machine! Anyone interested in purchasing it?

You can if you have a USB or Firewire Port.

Dear DATheads:
Looking for a San Francisco or Sacramento based taper
who wants a DA-20 (great shape) and who has a mic rig
that they want to trade. I'd like to do this in person,
so needs to be within the northern california area.
I will be using the mics for taping The Palms, which
recently re-located from Davis to Winters California.
I'm looking for a Nak-300 rig, or Earthworks mics only,
something like that.

I've got the Denon DTR-80P and access to lots of DAT tape. I want to make
SHN files of shows I tape, and I want to do it correctly. As "perfectly" as
possible given limited funds.
Are any of the new soundcards, SB Audigy, Philips Acoustic Edge etc...
acceptable for DAT> PC hard drive audio conversion?
I saw an Opcode SonicPort cheap on eBay. Would it do the transfer OK?
I keep reading what seems to me to be outdated information on this issue.
Can someone help me with specific updated info about new products or old
ones I can get cheap?
I've got the software end covered with Steinberg Nuendo, CoolEdit Pro 2.0
etc.. it's the hardware I need help with.

I'm taping Iris DeMent at the Aladdin tonight (Sunday) and have never been
there. Any advice on where I should try to get a seat?
Thanks!

I just bought this unit from a friend, and my first
attempts to transfer DAT > HD have not turned out
cleanly. I use CDWAVE to record, and I notice there
are subtle clicks or pops in the .wav files. What
might cause this? Should I use different software to
record? Please help!
Thanks,
