I finished converting my 1/22/03 Big Head Todd show from St. Louis over to cdr's. The master dat is on (1) 90m, or on (2) cdr's. Also on my HD right now, is El Monstero Y Los Masked Avengers, which consists of the band Stir and friends performing their annual Pink Floyd tribute shows. I have the first night (12/27/02, St. Louis) on (1) 90m dat, or on (3) cdr's which contains bonus material. If interested in trading, please see my website for general rules and whatnot. I've found the following information on a web site: "Zwan ~ live on XFM radio Zwan are playing live on UK radio station XFM Tuesday February 11th @ 5pm." Can anybody tape that for me (preferably on DAT)? Zwan is the new band of Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin (Smashing Pumpkins), Paz Lenchantin (A Perfect Circle), Matt Sweeney (Chavez) and David Pajo. I have quite a big list with many different bands and many high quality masters which I can send you upon request. I haven't found exact info on the FM station's web site, but what I could find is this: http://www.xfm.co.uk/webClient?guid=5738&site=xfm&rs=&action=search Thank you very much in advance, -- Sebastian Boschert E-Mail: sebi@foo.dyndns.org ICQ: 2010141 ------------------------------ From: Jay Lyons Subject: Thanks! Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2003 06:08:01 -0800 (PST) hi -- a friend of mine has a weird problem with his d8 battery sled. it won't fit into the d8 anymore because the plastic has apparently become malformed. hard to describe in words, so i took some pictures of the sled, viewable here: http://home.nyc.rr.com/pedroworld/d8_problem/ it seems as though the plastic has sort of bubbled and expanded around the battery contact points, creating a plastic nipple of sorts. (mmmm, nipple....) anyway, the raised plastic & bent gold contact point no longer fit into the deck. we both pretty much know this sled is shot, but i'd sort of like to get a feel for WHY it happened -- i've never seen nor heard of anything like this in all my days of d8 ownership. does it indicate an electrical problem with the deck? or leaky batteries? i'm really stumped. please drop me a line if you have any clues. i assume if you've got any info that it'd be informative to the list as well. thanks, peter ===== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ web: http://home.nyc.rr.com/pedroworld AIM: sleepypedro ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I position the wire ends at 180 degrees from eachother and they only stick out about an inch from the sonosax, and are mighty stable, even in a tight bag. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ From: "Chris Rees" Subject: sonic youth grovel..plz read! Reply-To: "Jason Brantley" Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2003 10:20:06 -0500 1. Does anybody know (short of getting a different i.e. non-ISA card) how I might get these pops and clicks to go away completely? I would contact tech support and see if they have any suggestions. 2. Does anybody know of an app that will let me compare two complete wav files(if I were to extract twice), and "fix" (the way EAC compares and fixes on the fly) any differences that it finds. Or even if it just returned a report of the position of "suspicious" jumps in the wave-form, so I could go in and fix or snip or smooth them out using Samplitude? Is this what "declicking" software does? Since the errors are usually just abrubt jumps in the sample values, I can find them manually, but it takes a while. WaveLab 4.0 has a .wav file comparer utility, as well as a global analysis feature that makes finding these types of errors very easy. Jason Brantley Sonic Sense 2755 S. The OADE bros. 'modification' link also describes the replacement of some 7.5K phantom resistors with some DIN-standard 6.1K phantom resistors, presumably to deliver more phantom power. Has anyone successfully implemented the brickwalling mods and/or the phantom resistor mods? Would this mod support mics with wide dynamic range such as the Rode NT4 (>128 dB)? Would anyone care to give the ref-deses (R?) of the 7.5K phantom resistors to be replaced? thanks, Sy -- _______________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup Meet Singles http://corp.mail.com/lavalife ------------------------------ From: John Fink Jr Subject: Pat Martino/Tin Angel/2/9/03 Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2003 12:59:56 -0500 Hi, Anyone fortunate enough to get this show, please drop me a line.
