I'm selling my TechniSat ADR (ASTRA Digital Radio) PCI satellite receiver card. It is a PCI card for your computer that is capable of receiving all digital radio channels broadcast over the European ASTRA satellite system (including various radio channels that regularly broadcast concerts). The card is in totally new condition. It requires at least a Pentium 133 Mhz system with 32 MB RAM and a Windows Operating System. It has an analog 3,5mm output as well as SP/DIF optical and electrical digital outputs. The card is currently up for auction on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3011811774 Thanks for your time! -- Sebastian Boschert E-Mail: sebi@foo.dyndns.org ICQ: 2010141 ------------------------------ From: "ihor cheecha" Subject: ISO-Ian DURY & the Blockheads Date: Thu, 06 Mar 2003 23:51:45 +1100 Meanwhile..... They probably put on one of the best live concerts I have ever seen. They are not to be missed! I don't actually do my own taping, but when my good friend / trading partner asked the band's permission to get a soundboard feed, they responded in a positive manner. Unfortunately, their road mamager nixed the feed. So, no tape was made of this high-powered energetic performance. It is my feeling, that in the right club, a board patch can be obtained. To stealth this show may be somewhat difficult, as the band's energy level sends the crowd into a virtual frenzy....but a good frenzy! But, if you can stealth it...I say go for it! Listed below is the band schedule for this tour. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could tape any of these shows. Please contact me off list, as I have over 3,200 entries on my list to trade (including the Flogging Molly interview yesterday afternoon on WTMD-FM Studios in Towson, MD). Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2003 09:46:38 -0500 (EST) Just wondering if there is anyone who gets good reception of either or both of these stations and could tape some upcoming shows for me. Nothing good comes on the radio here, but I have tons of stuff to trade, mostly good quality audience masters. The real deal imho is that soundcard len is developing, if its stable, it will kill the vx pocket.... The most affordable option for pda recording would be the 1.8" 5gb drive, these are around $200 and would give you enough room for a show at 24/48 (would be really tight at 24/96, only 2.5 hours of recording time). These drives are really pokey when it comes to transferring to windows(no dma) but they should be more than adequate for recording bandwidth. IBM's 4gb microdrives are currently planned for fall 03, pricing tba. I'm guessing $700+ for one of these suckas, which will be a bit prohibitive for most users.. unfortunately, all the solid state memory cards approaching size range are ridiculously expensive as well. Too bad toshiba/hitachi doesnt sell its 10,20, and 40 gb 1.8" drives in a pccard form factor. I thought for sure those would be out by now. hey len, why dont you make a pcmcia interface for those suckas! I'm more excited to get a 24/192 input on my laptop than to use it with a pda. I'm sure this will change as storage prices drop.... > From: Keith Bode > Subject: Core Sund's portable-I'm impressed > Date: Wed, 05 Mar 2003 07:37:32 -0800 > > I wanted to say just looking at Len's new Core sound portable recorder, > I am impressed. However, it appears that the major factor in the cost of the unit will be the storage media. For festivals it just isn't feasible to have 40+GB of flash media. So, with the portable will it be possible to hookup an external CD or DVD burner? Support for SHN compression would also be great (though I'm not sure if SHN supports 24-bit, >48kHz). All in all, I'll probably ditch my DAT deck soon after the unit comes out. The report mentions a price of under $400 depending on what you already have. What does under $400 get you, just the PDAudio-CF interface? Eric ------------------------------ From: Eric Eckberg Subject: Core Suound's portable-I'm impressed-ME TOO Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2003 12:34:01 -0800 (PST) I can't wait until it is a green light. It sounds very interesting, and it is nice to see someone is trying to keep going with the slow death of DAT. I am really sad to see DAT go, It has been a trusted media for years. I only hope these new "LITTLE" digital tapeless machines can stand up to the test. Hopefully it will weed out some of those really unpro-attitude tapers, like in the old days... Way to go Len! I am wading my way trough the e-mails so don't hink I am blowing you off, I will be making CDRs for upwards of 60 folks and just responding to everybody and gathering addresses and choices is a bit bigger a task than I riginally envisioned. Although since they are quite expensive in Sweden (about 70 SKR for a 90-minute tape!) I quite soon started buying DDS-tapes which were 90m (3 hours). By doing this I can always record a full show, and not risking missing anything ( I can even start recording a while before the actual show starts), and I get my 90ms for half the price here. > > Of course, I never record twice on any tapes. I always record, play it (to transfer it to CD) and then store it, so I never have to rewind it lots of times etc. to worry about any disfuntion. I actually find DDS-tapes more accurate (only judged my my ears of course). And they are defenitely worth a lot more to me than the regular DAT-tapes (which only excist in 2 hour-tapes at most here in Sweden - and they cost even more than 90 minutes!!!!) > > /Jonas, Sweden > > ***** YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST ***** > ------------------------------ From: "Bound to Green" Subject: Tori Amos- Radio City Music Hall Date: Thu, 06 Mar 2003 21:01:41 -0500 Greetings.
