went to see some good, old-fashioned devil music
tonight...security was tight at the Filmore - metal
detectors first, then a pat down...don't think I
coulda gotten a rig in...saw them twice in Chicago at
the Vic and the Riv in '99 and it was just a pat
down...lots of little hotties and dickheads acting up,
the mosh pit was at least the same size, if not a
little bigger, than people standing around between the
stage and the board....great rock-n-roll, tape them if
you can!! it would prolly fit on a 60m tape

Someone asked about the Flaming Lips' taping policy a couple
days ago, and I just now found this link I thought I'd lost:

It's a semi-official (at least it *says* it is) Flaming Lips
trading post, and seems very confident that the Lips allow taping/trading
- leastwise, it's a pretty bold site if they know otherwise.
I've taped the Flaming Lips a couple times, but was stealthing
- once in 2000 (Easter Sunday) and once on the recent tour with
Beck. Incidentally, the Beck set of that show was the first
(and so far only) time my D8 apparently failed to load properly
and gave me a totally empty tape when I thought I was rolling;
I got the Lips' set fine, though, though my location wasn't stellar.
If anyone has any decent recordings of the Beck set from that
tour, especialy the Indianapolis show, I'd love to hear from
you. I have no Beck to trade, but have a few Flaming Lips things
and tons of other stuff.

the recording....
Does he know the difference? The question was about taping not about
bootlegging.

Hey, all.
Windows Media Player has a feature that kicks off a trippy screen show that
responds to the sound from a CD inserted into the drive of the computer. Is
there a way to configure the computer so it will react to live music, using a
mic plugged into a standard issue soundcard? Gracias!
