sorry, dont want to fuel this, I'll try to keep it brief, but need to
clarify some things.

The 1.32.02 was actually released in january, and re released in march,
after they fixed a few extremely serious bugs(tho not related to recording,
they were related to killing your player when flashing). I have an email
(not here, but on another machine, where I asked my engineer contact if the
recording bugs had been fixed, and his reply was, no, they are working on
that for 1.40 (that was in february, there has not been a new
firmware'build' since then). note that the 'readme' file in the official
creative download is dated 'january'

ok, so you tested it for bit accuracy once, twice, 3 times? I have found
that in most cases the problems are not consistent or repeatable. for
example, it worked 90% of the time with the ad2k>'greybox'>njb3., but this
same combo, fed by a different digi source, would act more erratically. I
tested 2 different jb3s, with 3 different hard drives,5 different coax>opt
converters, and 4 or 5 different digital sources. Did almost 100 tests, and
the overall reliability is not there. like I said, even the best combos
were still only good 90% of the time. The majority were much worse than
that. d8's for example, are way more tolerant of the signal you feed them.
A device has to be universal if people are gonna buy it to patch.
I'm glad its working for you, but please dont say that its proven
reliability issues are 'completely false' based on your very limited sample
space (a few tests of one rig). And to everybody out there happily using
jb3's who dismiss me as a paranoid bit-accurate freak, keep in mind that
the firmware would not even be usable today If I wouldnt have pointed out
all the issues and stayed on creative to fix them. The first builds were
atrocious, and nobody else was testing/bitching, so the issues would have
gone unresolved. As I've said in the past,I've given up on testing the jb
until they have a new build to test. 1.32 is not 'stable' to what it could
be. At least we were able to take it from 'useless' to 'usable in limited
cases'. and with respect to the other debate, I never argued that it isnt a
way better solution than an minidisc, but it aint a dat. and since this is
dat-heads, I'm guessing thats the kind of reliability that the readers of
this list are looking for. So till its as reliable as a dat, I will not
recommend it to any field taper. ymmv...

Hello DAT-People,
I have a bunch of used CD cases that I no longer need, since I've gone to
using plastic sleeves to save space. I bought all of them new from Bags
Unlimited.
I have weeded out and discarded the cracked cases. The following is what's
left. They are in good shape except for light surface scratches due to
normal "wear and tear". All cases come complete with black trays.
RETAIL PRICES (www.bagsunlimited.com)
15 Single x $1.38 = $20.70
16 Double x $2.06 = $32.96
14 Triple x $2.10 = $29.40
36 Quad x $2.73 = $98.28
RETAIL TOTAL = $181.34
Sell for $75 (shipping via USPS "Media Rate" included).
