I made a nice tape at The White Stripes Masonic Temple show in Detroit on 2003-04-16 (CSB>D8 sixteenth row center). I'd like to trade for any other White Stripes shows from this mini US tour but I'm also open to just about anything. Let me know if your interested. Unfortunatly I can only trade on CDR at this point. Thanks Michael BWT: B&P for the first 3 for the above mentioned show(also only on CDR). ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: Re: Please end the long tourdates posts! Yes, I can scroll past the posts, but don't reallt want to. I also feel strongly that discussion should be of events where taping is permitted, and stzted so. I have beat that to death, and geerally do not mention my feelings on list at all, but I zgree with Peter's post. keith ------------------------------ From: "Steve Trick" Subject: ISO Richard Thompson Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 15:00:38 +0000 hey, was anyone able to tape richard thompson in the past few days? i brought my gear to HOB last night, but didn't dare attempt to enter with it. i'd settle for either madison or minneapolis, or both. steve _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: Re:Re: Universal DAT Repair Solution Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 07:53:14 -0700 > just to clarify, prodigital is in BROOMALL, PA, a suburb > of PHILADELPHIA, > and it is about 200 miles closer to NYC or WASHINGTON > D.C. than it is to > PITTSBURGH, PA (which is on the far western side of the > state) > > here's their website: http://www.prodigitalinc.com/ OOPS!! From the shores of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA, where I heard more than I wanted of the Gran Prix recently, sorry for the confusion. Regardless, it is where I would send again. I just got a dat setup and am in need of software to move tapes to my macintosh and seperate them into tracks. I want something easy to use and preferably cheap... Can anyone recommend a program? Date: Sun, 27 Apr 2003 14:35:19 -0400 I LIKE seeing many of the posts with all of the tourdates.....especially for more obscure bands! It certainly would become annoying to see the entire list of dates for acts that would obviously be taped anyways (Phish, ABB, 'Stones, Springsteen, etc) by many on the list, and a posted link is certainly better manners onlist then a long list of dates, so to that extent I'll certainly agree with peter. BUT, there are many great bands that are not as well known and / or widely taped....in many cases they do not have websites to post a link to, nor do they have advance ticket sales "supported" by Pollstar or Ticketbastard....if a band is unknown to you, it's obviously easier to readily observe that they are playing an inexpensive show in your town, and how many people are going to click on a link to a band they have never heard of? I APPRECIATE the listings of tourdates for ***more obscure and undertaped*** acts.....there are far too many great bands that fall into this category, and not all of them happen to be jambands, bluegrass, jazz, or funk. I've caught several excellent shows by bands previously unknown to me, and credit these type of postings as prompting me to go and tape. Another point is that many of these postings provide additional info not given on a band's site....as a recent example, the poster who prompted this complaint stated (in digest #716) that Voivod is opening the Sepultura shows....I had previously heard Voivod was touring, and checked their site (and found out that they weren't playing anywhere close to me....grrrrr) for the dates, but there was no mention there that the tour was as an opener for Sepultura.....so while it may not be of direct interest to a majority of tapers on this list, the information IS of interest and importance to at least SOME of us. peter, I don't recall you complaining about postings for bluegrass or jazz artists' tourdates....because you personally have never heard of a band or it may not be the type of music that you usually listen to is not cause for complaint. This list HAS been rather sparse these days, and for these type of posts, links instead of lists ARE usually posted for the well known and more widely taped acts. It might be more of an issue if this list was more crowded than it is, but for tourdate lists of acts that I'm obviously not interested in, it is certainly easy enough to scroll past them to the next posting.... I took a couple shots. The wall wart is not in the pic, it's in my basement in storage so I have to dig it out. I do have it though. I believe, I also have 2-3 of the power plugs to the unit. They sent me several extra as I asked for them when I bought it. One is soldered to a power cable with a 3pin xlr on the other end. I built my own battery packs with sealed lead acid batteries, but I did not use the 4 pin xlrs as I had no device that used them, and they're quite a bit more expensive when bought locally. Background on the unit. I bought one that was a pro model. I sent it to Graham Patten to have it modified, as I had a Sony D8 at the time, and in the course of their having it, they sent me a new one. I'm not sure if they broke mine, couldn't modify it, or what. But mine was new from them when I got it. at http://ebay.zemudaville.com I've put some pictures for you to see the unit, etc. Their is light scratching on the top of the unit, but very light. It never left my Tamrac bag. Most that I see sold, nobody has any idea where they came from as they've been passed around multiple times. As I know where mine came from, and I have every piece of it, I'd like to get $225 for it. If you were to ever have a problem with the unit, as I'm not sure how long the warranty is off hand, I'd be more than happy to help you deal with Graham-Patten so that you would benefit as if you were the original owner. So $225 + $15 insured UPS shipping and it's yours.
