Richard Thompson will be playing at the San Francisco Stereophile show this
Saturday at 8pm. As this is part of a home entertainment show, I don't thik
it will be too difficult to ger equipment through the door, but one
shouldn't be obvious running it.

rare tour opening for Yo La Tengo. Dates are:

* Sat 7 June Vic Theatre, 3145 N.Sheffield, Chicago IL (new venue,
all tickets for Riviera are good for Vic Theatre.)
* Sun/Mon 8-9 June First Avenue, Minneapolis MN
* Wed 11 June Gothic Theater, Denver, CO
* Fri 13 June Showbox, Seattle WA
* Sat 14 June Crystal Ballroom, Portland OR
* Sun 15 June Vogue Theater, Vancouver BC
* Mon 16 June Sugar Nightclub, Victoria BC
* Wed-Fri 18-20 June The Fillmore, San Francisco CA
* Sat 21 June - Henry Fonda Theatre, Los Angeles CA (also w/Le Tigre)
I recorded YLT on 4/18/03 at the Trocadero in Philadelphia (CSB->M1,
1' from right stack) as well as The Clean on 9/19/01 at the TLA in
Philadelphia (same equipment and location). If it would inspire
people to go and tape, I'll gladly reimburse ticket and taping costs.

Subject: Extra Dead Reserved Tickets Available!

Both my friend and myself sent away for reserved seats fo a good many Dead
shows thinking one of us would get them. We both got our tickets to each show,
and as a result, there are extras available for most of them. I'd like to
offer them first to tapers and their friends, and hence I'm posting here first.
The way it looks there will be reserved tickets for SPAC (6/20), Hartford
(6/21), both PNC's (6/24 & 6/25), and both Camden's (6/27 & 6/28). Looking to
get face for these tickets (including any ticket fees, which are small). All
are good seats!
Email me off list for more details.

Hi!
Did a search in the archive but could not find info on how to track a CDR
beyond 80mins (f x CDRWin will not, have asked but not got any reply so
probably not supported???). Did try Nero as well but only got a CDR with one
track even with specified times etc. 90min media and Infinity 99min used.
And I can burn CD's that are 90mins, 95mins etc...not just track a show
properly.
Anyway, if anyone can help I would surely appreciate it.

I've been told by a guy in this list that some people is giving me a bad
name. This sounds totally new to me, so I am inviting anybody who think I'm
a bad guy to email me in private, so we can talk about it.
Have I forgot to send discs to some of you? damn, it may have happened, but
since I occasionally lose my email archive, I can't find anything to confirm
this.
So, PLEASE let me know why I should be introduced to other tapers as a "bad
trader", because I've done so many great trades in these years that can
prove anybody I'm just the opposite.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Ian Moore fan website has a
small feature on Matt Pickett, our fellow DATHEAD who died in the Great
White Concert fire in West Warwick, Rhode Island back in February.
As a fitting tribute to Matt, two shows of Ian Moore that he taped are up on
the site as mp3s for free downloads. We figured Matty would like it that
way. Sadly, the show from Decemver 2002 is the last show that he and his
fiancee Wendy attended together.
Anyway, I encourage everyone to check it out and raise a glass to a fallen
comrade.

Subject: erasing ID tracks on a DAT

Hey kids,
I use a Sony PCM R500 (and am probably going to eventually KICK Myself for
not buying one of the several used PCM R500 decks recently offered on DATheads
for under a thousand). I have several DATs with Track IDs, which I so
painstakingly entered back in the days that I fantasized about making concert CDRs for
my friends, by copying from the R500 to a pro CD recorder (Sony CDRW33).
Now, instead I am copying from DAT to CDR, and then burning CDRs using
beloved itunes software on my imac. Gotta love Apples, they're so dickalicious.
Anyway, as you all know, with itunes there is a tiny gap inbetween tracks.
So it's now best for me to copy gigs WITHOUT any track IDs when using itunes.
Thus I now want to delete the track IDs on my DATs so that I can copy from DAT
to CDR and create 1-track gigs, which also encourages the ultimate listener
to at least hear the ENTIRE gig INSTEAD of just playing the live tracks
desired. Is there a "wholesale" way to delete the track IDs, or am I forced to sit
in front of my DAT machine and go to each track, and then delete each track,
ONE BY ONE? Ack. Those are 15-18 song gigs. Please give me a better way.

via itunes.
Or BWT b&p New Order 2-16-87 Adelaide (I think the encore is "Every
Little Counts" and "Broken Promise" - or am I thinking 2-20-87 Perth, which is
also available)...
Or BWT b&p CDR Marky Mark Gardener earlier this year at Bottom of the
Hill, which includes old Ride classix "Twisterella" and "Smurf them all Behind"
and "Vapour Trail" and a few others, plus new tracks - it was really really
good, come to think of it.

Hey kids,
Even As We Speak is going to play a gig as part of SF's Pop Holiday (July
2003) and I assume they are playing other US cities. This is the first
Australian band to ever do a live acoustic cover of "Bizarre Love Triangle" plus they
were on Sarah Records. I'm looking for fellow tapers, because I am assuming
that they are playing both old and new songs, but hopefully really good oldies.
I'm also looking for setlists from 1987, as I have several gigs from that
year but no idea of the songs played (nothing from the later Sarah releases, or
the Phantom Record releases).
Trades and certain b/p welcome, primarily so that we can both expand our Even
As We Speak live collections. They've also toured the UK and US during the
past decade, and I have very little from those shows, as well.

Hey all, We have three tapers going to Bonnaroo and five stages, as you can
see we have a small dilemma. Last year we captured most of Bonnaroo and
this year we would like to capture it ALL. We need help is anyone willing
to send me their portable DAT deck (DAP1-D8-D7, etc) with cables and
batteries? I will use it and be happy to reciprocate with copies of any
show to your choice. If anything happens to your deck I take full
responsibility and will have it fixed or replace it at my cost. I
personally run 184s-Minime-G3 & DAP1 and have been a taper for 10yrs so no
worries guys just need friendly taper assistance.
