This doesn't mean that you give it to them, it just means that they are aware that it's yours. They'll usually give you a small sticker to put on each piece of equipment. This is to prevent people from stealing equipment at the show and trying to claim that they brought it in with them. I installed the card into an empty pci slot ( making sure not place it in a pci slot next to a video card, that may be using the same irq's) Installed the drivers that I found at the M-Audio web site. After all of that I went to the Delta Control Panel and configured everything. I have a Technics turn table, I am running the analog rca connectors from the trun table to a Roll's phono preamp, and then out of the rca analog out's on the Roll's phone preamp to the analog in of the Audiophile 2496. I am trying to convert all of my old vinyl over to cd. So I open Sound Forge 6.0 and proceed to record the signal that is being transmitted from the Technics turn table to the Audiophile 2496 sound card. My major dilemma is that it seems as though I have absolutley no way of controlling the level of the signal going to sound forge. Please keep in mind that this is an analog siganl and not a digital signal, therefore technically I should have some way of controlling the signal level. The signal is being clipped when recorded by sound forge because the signal is too hot. After spending hours messing around with the Delta Control Panel Monitor Mixer and Patchbay Router, I am still not able to get the levels to a manageble level. I have found that even when setting the controls in the Delta control panel all the way to zero, it still doesn't seem to have any effect on the incoming signal from the turn table. My operating systems is Windows XP Professional, Pentium 4 processor, 1.4 gig operating speed, and 512 megabytes of rdram. Also, should I be using the -10dBV setting in the Delta Control Panel instead of the default consumer setting? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------ From: "Benjamin Branch" Subject: ISO: White Stripes Tapers Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2003 15:52:15 -0500 Looking for people who are going to be taping the White Stripes on this tour. Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2003 18:27:10 -0700 (PDT) Midnite (from St. Croix), among the cream of "fresher" reggae groups out there, are embarking on a US tour, beginning 10 days from now, in CA. Widely touted for their hi-energy performances at such recent fests as: Sierra Nevada World Music Fest, Monterey Bay Reggae Fest, & San Diego's Bob Marley Day, they'll soon be hitting both coasts, and a few Midwest dates... I used a small delimiter cable through a left and right channel RCA cord because the board was somewhat hot. When I got home to listen the tape sounded wonderful except every so often there are portions of a quick drop out. This happens about 20 times throughout the tape. All of my levels were fine and all that but I cannot figure out why there are these drop outs. Any help or ideas what went wrong would be gladly appreciated.
