From: "Stephen Pzynski" <stejampzy@hotmail.com> Subject: SoundForge, Cool Edit and/or Midiman 2496 problems Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2003 14:10:15 -0500 I need some help... I am currently using a Midiman Delta Dio 2496 soundcard in my computer, SoundForge 4.5 and Cool Edit Pro and am having the same issue all the time -- tons of minute pops and clicks in my DAT transfers. I have tinkered with a few things including: wiping off the connections with a clean towel, removing and reinstalling my soundcard, increasing and decreasing the latency samples on the Delta Dio control panel, using a codec sample rate of 44,100 and 48,000 and just removing the pops and clicks one-by-one. None of these things seem to work as well as they're supposed to. Does anyone have suggestions?? I'm currently running an HP Pavilion XT856 with Windows XP. From what I can tell I have plenty of memory and speed -- 40 gig hard drive and 933mHz, Petium III processor. My standalone burner is now in the shop (HHb CDR 830) after just over a year of use and will probably need an entire new laser assembly costing $300-400... not worth it on a $500 burner, so I need to get my computer up and running for as little reasonable money as possible. This is apparantly very rare for an HHb unit to have such a severe problem in such a short time... not sure since I've never used one of their products before. Either way it sucks. Anyhooo, I'm open to anything. Thank you for any help. Steve http://db.etree.org/stejampzy _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. From: "Adrian Fernandes" <adrianf@cuic.ca> Subject: FT: Coldplay Toronto - 2003.06.10 Reply-To: adrianf@cuic.ca Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2003 22:15:05 -0400 I recorded the Coldplay Toronto show at the Molson Amphitheatre from cable last night and did the transfer to CD today. CD1: 56 min CD2: 37 min Source: FM Stereo (via Cable Feed) > Monster Cable > Sony DSR-40 DVCAM VTR @ 48kHz Transfer: DSR-40 DVCAM VTR > Firewire > Premiere (audio capture only) > WAV > Cool Edit Pro (Downconverted to 44.1kHz) > CDR Sound Quality: EX/- (some slight over compression at points from the source) Performance: don't ask (let's just say the Atlanta show was a better show. Seems like they were suffering from burnout.) Looking for all sorts of shows including non-common Coldplay shows from the first leg of the tour. My list is available via http://db.etree.org/jjjewels for all other shows that I own. Cheers, Adrian.
