On their larger boards there are multile stereo outputs. I guess what becomes the question is what is the benefit of having true stereo mix at live events. I read the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels tour used 2 32 channel Mackie's, joined. If you pan certain insturments or vocals to one side or the other, the audience would not hear the entire sound being produced, unless they were in the sweet spot area. Keith ------------------------------ From: Chris Bozzelli Subject: FS: Neumann TLM- 170rs and Lunatec V2 Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 13:55:35 -0700 (PDT) Hi folks, As I get older and my music tastes change, I find myself seeing fewer and fewer bands that allow open taping. I've decided that it's time to move to a super stealth rig based around the DPA 402x series mics, and therefore, my babied TLMs and V2 need to be sold. Info: (2) Neumann TLM 170r Microphones - bought new 03/2001 transported and kept in a pelican case when not in use. will include original Mahogany cases, boxes, and Neumann windscreens. Asking $3,400 or best offer Lunatec V2 Mic Pre amp. Bought new 09/2000. 6v Model. Not sure what the going rate for V2s is, say $800 obo. I also have a 15' pair of Audio Magic x-stream cables I won't Be needing. Make me an offer or I'll throw them in if someone takes the mics and pre together. Finally - anyone know good places to get a deal on some DPAs? or how about a high-end stealthable 24/96 A/D? ~Chris __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! Welcome to the future! Not all digital mixing consoles are used in studios anymore. Get wit de times! Here are links to digital live performance mixing boards. (This is just a few links from the first page of "digital live console" search on google. . . http://www.google.com/search?q=digital+live+console ) http://www.glw.com/products/lpcd/ Harrison http://www.soundcraft.com/products/324_live.html Soundcraft Spirit http://mixonline.com/ar/audio_innovason_sensory_ii/ innovaSON http://www.allen-heath.co.uk/dl1000.asp Allen and Heath A professionally mixed show can be a great thing to take a board feed off of. . . and as for the need for digital outputs? More and more frequently, signal snakes are going to be digital in the future, and with active (powered) speaker technology becoming all the rage, there is less and less reason to go analog once each signal is successfully digitized. -t On Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 01:50 PM, Digestifier wrote: > From: Keith Bode > Subject: Re:Re: Still newbie: soundboard tech question > Date: Mon, 16 Jun 2003 15:03:03 -0700 >> Also, most of the boards i have gotten that were analog boards, i >> just used RCA jacks. >> > To my knowledge, there are no DSBD's around any live performances, > unless the show is .
