Have been inactive on the list for quite awhile and now job
circumstances dictate drastic measures(can you spell 50% temporary pay
cut and no assurance of next pay check unti it arrives?).
I'm keeping my primary M1 which has been old faithful in the field and
also hanging onto my MiniDisc recorder and stealth mics. The daughter
starts her last year of college in August and need the cash now.
Please note - all items are in mint condition - the M1 was purchased as
part of a group buy throughj a guy on this list a year or two back who
had access to demo units that were used in a sleep research project or
some such story but it is in flawless condition and I've used it for no
more than 20 - 30 hours for tape transfers only - no field use.
The KM 184's were used twice for multi day outdoor festivals
(Bumbershoot 2001 and Telluride 2002) and indoors on only four or five
occasions. Please don't send ridiculous lowball bids - I will ignore
them. I'm not unreasonable and need the $$ but I'll come up with other
options rather than giving this stuff away at too low a price. Hoping
for one person to buy as a package but will consider splitting out
separate items if no decent offers are forthcoming. I will NOT
consider any offers under $1500 total.
I can and will personally deliver the gear anywhere in North or Central
Jersey, NYC, Binghamton, Scranton, Albany or Syracuse. You are welcome
toi set it up and try it out when I deliver to satisfy yourself that it
is as represented. Cash, bank draft or bank/PO money orders only.
Mint condition:
One each of all items
Pair consecutively numbered Neumann KM184 hypercardioid mic's with
original wooden box, mounts and windscreens
Sony M1 portable DAT recorder - purchased this as a demo unit and it
was reserved for use in transferring tapes only - it has not seen field
use - all boxes, manuals, charger etc included. Very low hours of use.
Sony dual SPDIF coax cable - can be used for input and/or output -
allows interconnection to external DA convertor and external mic preamp
and also connection to digital sound card for transfers to PC
Ecocharge Sigma Plus rechargeable battery system - it will power the M1
for many, many hours and has option of also powering the SONY SBM1
external AD convertor if you have one
Denecke AD20 Analogue to Digital convertor and mic preamp - better
sound quality and lower noise floor than the onboard electronics of the
Sony M1 - has XLR inputs and mini-plug output with convertor to SPDIF
coax connector for use with Sony SPDIF digital coax cable. Also has a
secondary Toslink optical output for connection to MiniDisc recorders
or other devices with optical input.
Denecke PS2 Dual phantom power supply to feed mic signals to the AD20
Custom "sled" from "Sound Professionals - holds multiple standard 9
volt batteries - allows long duration use of AD20 and PS2 without
changing batteries - professionally built (not a home-built project
box)
15 foot black lightstand with microphone adapter - heavy duty
8 foot black light stand with microphone adapter - sturdy but portable
Lowe Pro Padded zipper bag - ideal for carrying M1, AD20, PS2 and
stealth mics. It is small and portable - not large enough to carry all
20 foot pair XLR Monster Cables
6 foot pair XLR Monster cables
20 foot pair Audio Technica XLR cables as backup
6 foot pair Audio Technica cables as backup

I am looking for a soundcard to do on the fly sample rate conversion.
I have a bunch of DATs recorded in Sony LP mode and while I have a
DIGI 001 setup, it doesn't handle this format. Back when I was using
system 9 I used a Lucid PCI24, and while it had its shortcomings, it
did this pretty well. I use BIAS Peak for editing.
Any ideas or suggestions?
TIA
Edwin
PS It would be cool if it also did 24/88.2 monitoring as well.

Subject: FS: Complete DA-P1 Rig - Lower Price
Date: Mon, 23 Jun 2003 08:45:54 -0500
Due to limited response, I'm offering this up one more time at a hundred
bucks less.
Well, due to financial troubles......brought on by not working since
January, I have to part with some of my gear. Here's the deal:
Tascam DA-P1 approx 3 years old. Works GREAT, used only to record, as
playback & duplication is my DA-302s job. The case was autographed by Keller
Williams & Warren Haynes.....The W.H. auto is hard to read, as it was done
w/a black sharpie. The deck is nice both mechanically & cosmettically.
EcoCharge charger & 2 battery packs. I've run the deck using phantom power
for the mics for 5 1/2 hours before on ONE battery with no problem.
Earthworks SR-77 mics. These things sound AWESOME! great condition.
I'll also include a box of 10 blank Sony tapes.
I'll sell the whole outfit for $1,250.00 shipped UPS ground insured. If
nobody wants the whole rig by the end of the week, I'll split it up. I will
only take a money order or cashiers check, as I've been burned before. :-(

Thanks to an upload by everyone's favorite Floridian, Boca Bob
Silver, I now have a copy of his seed of the Neil Young and Crazy
Horse 2003-06-08 West Palm Beach, FL show up via BitTorrent.
See http://chumby.dlib.vt.edu/BT/ for the download link and show details.
It seems from what Neil says during the show that this may be the
inaugural staging of "Greendale" in the US. This is an electric, not
acoustic show (though there's some acoustic).
