I saw the set list for Neil's show in West Palm Beach. Can anyone tell me if this is his typical show? Is it mostly his new album? If so, I have a pair of great taping seats (Row U - Orchestra Center) at Merriweather Post this Wednesday nite for sale!
I look forward to your responses!
Thanks!

Subject: Really dumb question
Date: Mon, 23 Jun 2003 12:38:46 -0700 (PDT)
I have a stupid question for all of you tapers out
there. During a conversation of audio recording with
a friend of mine who is not really up to speed on the
latest technology, he asked me a question that started
making me think. What is the point of having devices
that can record at 24/96 when the spec's for cd are
16/44.1. I mean if all you were going to do is burn
your captured 24/96 audio to cd, you would then have
to resample it to 44.1 and change the bit structure to
a 16 bit file. My answer to him was that with a DVD-R
that you could actually burn the audio file as a24/96
file since dvd allows for 24/96 audio. But most
people I know of still don't have DVD burners, most
people that I know are using CD Rewritable drives. I
am interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Thank
you in advance.

I am 110% pleased with my RME DIGI96, which will do all you mentioned. I
started with w LynxONE, but that did not work out. I am also in Peak as
well as Waveburner Pro.

Someday you might have a better system available.
Even now, the extra bits let you record with headroom (for safety) and
normalize later, and still have >16 bits of signal.

I just saw a celtic festival last week at Pier 6 in Baltimore, and one of the bands that really impressed me was the Saw Doctors. If you have any good quality live shows from these guys and are up for a trade, drop me a line. I've got 3,476 entries on my list for trade.
By the way, Flogging Molly closed the show, and they kicked butt....so if you have any of their stuff, let me know!

Subject: need a backup deck
Date: Mon, 23 Jun 2003 19:11:38 -0500
Hi all. I wanted to start here to see if there are suggestions on what to get in the way of a portable deck to
transfer shows with. My taping M1 is 4 years old, and is used as a transfering deck as well. I'm starting to have
some issues as far as tapes are wanting to hangup inside the deck when removing, putting a digi spot on one
master and making other tapes look wrinkled.
There was a good deal on a M1 awhile back but I didn't "need" a backup at the time. That time has come
now. Any good suggestions "pre ebay" are welcome, but i'm sure that option will be explored.
Thanks.

Joe Jackson's U.S. Tour starts Aug. 9th at the Webster Theatre, Hartford, CT
This is a tour that should not be missed (IMHO). Anyone that will be taping
any of these shows please let me know. I will bw doing at least 1 of them
myself & would love to hear all that I can!

"They said it would never happen - in fact, Joe said it would never happen!
But: the original Joe Jackson Band - JJ + Graham Maby (bass), Gary Sanford
(guitar) and Dave Houghton (drums) has re-united for a new album and tour. In
part, this is to celebrate the 25th anniversary, in 2003, of the band's
formation and the recording of Look Sharp. However, this is not just an
exercise in nostalgia, since the band has recorded a whole album of new
songs."

I recently received Radiohead's 05/22/03 Manchester as a SHN disc from a
friend - sadly enough my burner just died on me, and I can't use the
burner at work at the moment. So if anyone would be interested in
converting this to CD-Audio for me I'd be very grateful (of course I'll
provide blanks and return postage), and you could keep the SHN disc then.

Anyone know if this consumer model CD burner will burn Data CD-R's? or just
Music CD-R's? Anyone have a standalone burner for sale? My HHB CDR830 is
dead after 15 months and I need a replacement but am not looking to spend
too much $ since my $500 HHB is already trashed.
Thanks...

I recently decided that I wanted to downsize my live CD collection due
to time and lack of interest. As I have little or no use for blank CD's
at the
moment (I have about 200 right now), I'm looking at selling part of my
collection at the COST of the CD, COST of sleeves, and COST of postage.
I counted just over 150 discs.
I'm hoping to get US$0.60/disc (includes inlays for most of the discs).
That works out to US$90 + shipping.
I also hope to do this as one transaction for somebody who's just
starting
out or somebody who wants to add a bunch of stuff to their collection.
Discs will be sent with liners and discs in sleeves in a cardboard box.
**NO CASES** If my price seems a bit high feel free to make an offer.
Quality HP media (Japan Manufactured) go for around C$0.80/disc
(US$0.60) after tax in Toronto. Discs in this collection range from TDK
to Mitsui to HP to Fuji to Sony to everything else, really.
Payment by INTL MONEY ORDER or PayPal.
