Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 12:08:57 -0700 (PDT) I just finished a nice DVD-R of Belly live on April 16, 1993 at the Santa Monica Pier. I shot on a monopod & Hi8 above everyones head about 20 feet back. Totally stable. Problem was during Feed The Tree (and the last 2 songs) I was in the dead center of a mosh pit. Needed to move to the side and my audio got blown out esp. on the left track. Got an unknown vhs gen shot from the side and used both audio tracks and made the DVD-R. I did a 2 cam mix and included my complete Hi8 footage (without the unknown vhs footage) as a easter egg. Looking for other DVD-R's (or master audio/video footage from this concert) www.dvdrtraders.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! I picked them up from an elementary school about 10 years ago, and they have only been used to store my cassettes and DATs. Each cabinet has 18 drawers. The cabinet itself is made from wood particle board with a red plastic laminate covering on the top and sides. The drawers are hard plastic. Each drawer will hold at least 23 DATs. Overall WxHxD=20"x26"19" Here's a link to a picture of them: http://home.twmi.rr.com/sanabria/datstorage3.jpg I have gotten rid of most of my DATs and cassettes and no longer have a need for cabinets this size. They are still in great condition. Unfortunately, the are HEAVY. So if you're fairly close to the Southeastern Michigan area and would be interested in these, let me know and we can discuss. Thanks, Notorious T.I.M. ------------------------------ From: Jeff Roy Subject: ISO: Remote for Sony D100 Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 13:00:33 -0700 (PDT) I'm looking for a remote for a D100. I've been toying with the idea of trying to send $3 to $5 to independent artists that are easy to contact whenever I acquire a live performance recording. It seems only fair that they should get some compensation for the music I get to enjoy. Has anyone ever tried doing that? I'm not totally convinced it would work well. I'm leary of running afoul of an artist who hates taping. I'm not sure I can extract info from people on how to send them money. And probably other things I haven't thought about. Thoughts? neal ------------------------------ From: "- -" Subject: ISO : Peter Gabriel US/CAN '03 + Seattle '02 + Mexico Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 22:30:41 +0000 Hello, if you taped Peter Gabriel during his last month USA/Canada tour, please email privately to set some trade. I play CD's all the time after a fresh burn and after >10, 15 plays it is not the same as the first few plays. They all >degrade. > Rick You need to have your ears checked! I think you may be losing some hearing. Digital media is a serious of 1's 0's and it's information remains the same unless it's corrupted by not being able to read back the information correctly. Say like DAT heads that can't read the tape because it's been mangled or it's lost it's magnetic properties. Or a CD that can't be read because you scratched it up. Now I'll give you that a DAT can wear out over time with each play, but that would have to be one heavily played tape. But CDs and CD-Rs (after burned) become an optical media so unlike a vinyl records there is not physical touch to playback the disc. They don't degrade in sound quality as a tape would because of how often you play it. They may however lose information and skip, if you don't treat them with proper care. But the sound quality remains the same as long as the 1's and 0's can be read back properly. Your's degrade after 10 plays, sounds like cheap CD-Rs and they're losing their reflective properties. I think the reflective layer is breaking down because it's cheap and over time it's just getting worse. But it's got nothing to do with how many times you played it. It's an optical reading unlike vinyl which does degrade with every play because of the physical touch. If you're CD-Rs don't sound exactly the same as the day recorded ( and you took proper care of them, no scratches, no fingerprints, etc.) the problem isn't the discs but in your head. _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? For trade only....2 2cdr sets...superb quality...recorded to dat with sonic studios mics...transferred to cdr... looking for other current elvis especially Boston and the current canadian shows with steve nieve, and elvis video email me at lileddie@attbi.com If you are an Elvis fan, Lupos was one of those nights you won't forget. The first set was a 90 minute version of what he's been playing on tour recently -- a good mix of the mellow and hard rocking stuff, with most of the latter being the better known and more widely played stuff (including Oliver's Army which he rarely plays any more) The second show was unbelievable, two+ hours with most of the show being solid, straight ahead hard rocking/punk rock. Anyone thinking Costello has lost something or mellowed had to see this show -- much more hard rocking than any of his previous concerts with little repeat from the first set. Included Accidents, Watching the Detectives, Alison which weren't played the first set and a bunch of lesser known hard rocking songs, plus a great performance of I want you. Oh yeah I forgot. Dancing girls onstage during the second set main set closer pump it up. Funniest thing when one tried to rub Elvis' head while he was playing, he was like a married man in a strip club running away from a lap dance. 3 1/2 hours of Elvis in a club that only holds several hundred people I believe that provided a combination of the most variety and most energy you will ever see from him in an evening.
