I have about 80 DATs I am liquidating. I have separated them into 6 sets of
13 DATs each, plus each set gets one additional freebie DAT of my choosing.
Each set will cost $52 (about $3.70 per DAT if you factor in the freebie).
I will not break up sets, sorry. Shipping is $7 per set (less if you order
multiple sets). No international shipping (outside US) unless you buy 2
sets or more and pay with US cash or a verified Paypal account. Paypal is
my accepted method of payment and I only ship to verified shipping
addresses. I will also accept cash or a money order.
All of these tapes played flawlessly last time I played them, and sources
are best available in most cases. Media varies but is predominantly KAO
Gold, Sony DDS & Maxell DDS.

I would think not. The above unit (as I understand it) is simply a
up/down converter and just repeats the A/V signal to/from the secondary
location. NTSC utilizes AM, FM, and SSB modulations (I don't know what
PAL uses) but they are all still essentially analog whereas S/PDIF is
purely in the digital realm.

Hi,
Does anybody have any late 70's/early 80's Human League,
Ultravox, knocking about in their collections and would
be interested in a trade ? I had my interest rekindled
by a 20min Digital Radio rebroadcast of a 1978 John Peel
Human League Session - which I'll trade for similar stuff.
Also interested in any Ladytron FM's, if anybody has any,
I have a couple.
thanks

Hi guys,
Before I get flamed for doing this, I'm stating up front that there is no
profit involved in this. I've decided to sell off (at the cost of a blank
disc in Toronto) another portion of my collection. As Julie and I no
longer have time for trades, I will be making a third posting on her
behalf in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, this is phase two of
my clearance (my final phase). We're doing this due to time
constraints as well as a lack of interest on both our parts.
A cost of a good brand-name disc (i.e. Fuji, HP, Kodak) in Toronto
pushes C$1.00/disc (if not more) after taxes. As a result, I'm asking
for US$90 + shippping for this lot. The discs will be mailed on two
spindles (1 x 100, 1 x 25) -- and the printed out liner for each disc
(when available) will be included as well. Payment by PayPal is
accepted. If you'd rather pickup locally in the Greater Toronto Area,
that can be arranged as well.
We're doing this because of the time and expense in collecting
these shows over the years and the fact that these discs deserve a
home where somebody can enjoy them (i.e., listened to and traded).
Below is a list of artists included in this clean-up (and the number of
discs related). For a full list, please visit:
http://www.generationpoponline.com/jjjewels/deletions-2003.08.02.

Alan,
For some reason the Shack website PDF of the user manual was not readable,
but judging by the BOM of this device, it appears to be analog only. That
is my guess. I don't think it could handle transmission of digital signals.

Your mic wires are shot. Same thing happened to my DSM-6S/L mics,
which are about the same age as yours.
You'll have to send them back to Leonard for repair.
This same thing rendered my recordings of the Doors and
Bob Dylan to be unlistenable and useless. :-( I was majorly bummed because
the act of stealthing both shows was quite challenging as fas as
getting my gear in.
Both tapes were full of those static scratching sounds that you get when you
twist the input connector or brush against the mics during recording,
and I was being very careful NOT to touch either the recorder or the mics.
After Leonard replaced the wires (@ $100), they work almost as
good as they originally did. YMMV.
