Date: Sun, 31 Aug 2003 09:24:39 +0000 So the tours nearly over, but in case anyone was wondering in the future. Radiohead Doesnt Allow Taping!!! I went to the UBC Vancouver show tonight and put up my full rig at 12 foot. The venue asked me to lower them but did not make me break down. A bit later they came back with Radiohead's tour manager who was not happy that I was setup (he was equally pissed at the venue for letting me get in with this huge rig). I checked BTAT and it listed Radiohead and the Jyks as both being Taper Friendly, and I have had positive exprience with both bands in the past, but something has changed. The road manager did not care if it was DAT or Minidisc, or pro mics or not (as i tried to con an explaination how "crappy" my mics really were, no avail). So unless the band makes a public policy change, I would assume my experience will be true at any Radiohead show (and not just a UBC problem). Good luck! PS IM sure Stephen Malkmus and the Jyks still allow taping, they always have when they play seattle, im sure this was a radiohead thing...
