Howdy All,
I'm looking to obtain a pair of gently used or
reasonably priced new AKG B18's. If anyone
has a pair they no longer need/use or can direct
me to a vendor who has `em for under $125
per (best new price I've found so far...) please
drop me a line offlist. Other phantom power
source suggestions are welcome as well.
I'm also toying with the possibility of investing a
little more $ & buying a mid level Pre/phantom
power box (MV100, MP-2, etc). If someone
has a line on one (or something similar) at a
fair price please feel free to drop a line as well.
I'd be running from a matched pair of AKG
C 451 B's > ??? > SBM-1 >D8...
Thanx for your help in completing my chain!
I welcome any & all suggestions/feedback.

Ernie

Wow - what a generous guy! A starting bid of only $79.99 for a book that
cost half that! I guess there's some dork that'll pay that, though.
Sheesh.

Hey Now,
In support of their 10th LP, "Ohio", Over the Rhine is going on
an extensive tour, from Boston to Seattle. OtR is
taper-friendly (no soundboards tho), and quite a few past shows
are in circulation. If you are even slightly interested, do
yourself a favor and go down to the record store, or Barnes &
Noble or wherever and get yerself a free listen (or request
airtime on your local NPR). This time, their usually insightful
lyrics are so heartfelt I can't even find comparison. It's a
compelling double album, and I believe the days of seeing OtR
for only $10 are numbered.

LOUISVILLE Tapers ... I only have a stealth setup for my D100.
I would be most indebted to you if you could loan me a simple
mic-stand. Or if you want to show up with a full mic rig and
give me an optic out / 7pin patch, I'll pay your way in for the
Oct 1 show.

I am on the search for a clean soundboard copy of the Jason Crosby show at The Wetlands in NYC from 3/14/01. I recieved a copy many months ago, but it was recorded in TAO. If you have a dat or cdr version that is good, I would greatly appreciate your response. I've got plenty of high quality shows to offer in trade.

Anyone have any use for a batch of once used DAT tapes?
All are name-brand (Maxell/Sony) 60 or 90m.
Recorded on once. Due to sound problems while recording, they can not be traded.
Make me an offer.

Like the subject says, I'm looking to find this recording on DAT or CDR.
I'm pretty sure that the source was CSB mics and D7 or D100, but I've never
managed to successfully complete a trade in order to get it. Lists will be
sent by request.

I don't know what the beef is regarding Prodigital and fixing DAT's. In
early July, my SV-3800 started eating tapes. It ate my master of Swamp
Donkey (a moe. side project) 7/7/03. I boxed up my deck and sent it to Paul
with the eaten tape plus a new, sealed DAT with a note saying that this DAT
is not replacable and to do what he could. I always leave 1:00 of leader
before I start recording and that's where the tape got munched. Not only did
he fix my deck but he fixed my eaten tape and recloned it for me. He
charged me $10 for his time but it was well worth it.
I've been dealing with Paul for almost 10 years now. He's not the cheapest
guy around but your gear gets fixed the first time you send it to him and
he's about as ethical as one can get in the repair biz. I cannot recommend
him enough.

PS I'll do some B&P of Swamp Donkey if there's some interest. These guys
can jam!!

Does anybody have any suggestions for a low-cost way to make 40 or 50
copies of a CD without going crazy in the process?
In particular, is there a reasonable way to put several burners into
a Linux box and use them simultaneously?
Thanks

What's been going on?
Leaving Austin on June 18, we stopped in Los Alamos to play for the
fine folks, then we headed off to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
Bryn and I played a set there with Rowan & Rice, and Brian and Geoff
took the oppertunity to celebrate, and celebrate. Then we went to
Flagstaff, AZ, and the beautiful redwoods of Ben Lomond, CA, where
Chojo Jacques was kind enough to feed us fried chicken and play fiddle
for us at Henfling's. In Oregon, we played for great folks at all
three of our shows. our sets at Northwest String Summit and Brittfest
Pavillion were the highlights of the trip. As was the Tractor Tavern
in Seattle - we were totally suprised by the folks that showed up
there. Canada held its own suprises, as well! The shows never
happened. The defeated, however, turned into a couple joyous days
playing music, eating amazing fish, swimming in ice-cold water, and
trying to fill the Recycling bin with Bushmills bottles at our friend's
house on Denman Is. We ran through CO on our way home, playing at
Quixote's - the Grateful Dead tribute bar in Denver - while the Dead
themselves were playing right up the road at Red Rocks. We ended the
trip with a return to the Acoustic Coffeehouse in Nederland - one of
our favorite venues. We scooted home just in time to crawl onto stage
at the McKinney Roughs Ampitheatre in Austin, which turned out to be a
fun-filled evening with Sarah Jarosz sitting in on Sonny's Ride and
Watson's Blues.
When Bryn and I got back from New York, Mass. and Rockygrass at the
end of July, we hit the Allgood Cafe in Dallas and did a unique show
at the Cactus, where we had to evacuate twice for firedrills and did
some unplugged back porch pickin for the large crowd . Then on a hot
Sunday, Gruene Hall lived up to its name, giving us all a great Texas
Dance Hall experience.
At the end of this month, we head off to Ohio, Pennsylvania,
Massachussets, New York, Connecticut, Virginia, North Carolina, and
Tennessee, and maybe Georgia. Our new CD, Insofarasmuch, is moving
onto national distribution beginning Sept. 9. This means that even if
it is not in your local record store, they can now order it for you.
And by all means, please ask them to. We also have T-shirts and new
merchandise on the
way.
"Thanks" to you all for your support. See you soon,
Billy Bright
