A friend of mine is selling a Sony PCM-2500. This is an old pre-SCMS
machine (two box machine). Does anyone have any idea what this machine is
worth? I understand that the machine is working fine. Your help would be
appreciated. If anyone is interested, I don't think that reasonable offer
will be refused.

Hello all,
I just put a hand on a vintage Sony DTC-1000ES (first deck by Sony if I
remember well)
I have two questions:
1. As it is my first step in the DAT world could anyone give me some
advice (especially about this model) about weaknesses, daily
maintenance, cleaning, etc...
2. Supplied manual is in german :-( Could anyone help me to find one
(pdf ?) in English or French ?

I have to agree with Jason about Over the Rhine's latest double album.
Karin is one of the most talented, most overlooked female vocalists
performing today. Well worth hearing and taping.
However, last I heard, their label is still anti-taping. The band
doesn't mind, and there are lots of boots circulating. If you're allowed to
put up a stand during this tour, please let the rest of us know. I'll be
seeing them in October.
